    LINC BULLETIN 6th March 2013The UN theme for International Women's Day 2013 is

    "A promise is a promise: Time for action to end violence against women,"while International Women's Day 2013 has declared the year's theme as The

    Gender Agenda: Gaining Momentum.LINC is currently conducting research on intimate partner violence (IPV)

    which will be published later this year.

    The next Go West dinneris in Deasys, Clonakilty

    on Friday 22nd March at6.30pm. Cost is 26 fortwo courses or 32 forthree courses including

    Stephanie Seguino is Professor of Economics at the University of Vermont, USA; Profes-sorial Research Associate at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), Universi-

    ty of London; and Research Scholar at the Political Economy Research Institute at the

    University of Massachusetts/Amherst. Her research explores the relationship betweeninequality, growth, and development, including the links between gender equality on

    macroeconomic outcomes and the gender and race effects of contractionary monetary

    policy. She is an instructor in the African Program for Rethinking Development Econom-ics (APORDE), Associate Editor ofFeminist Economics andJournal of Human Develop-

    ment and Capabilities, and a member of the editorial board ofJournal of Post-Keynesian Economics.
