News Track The Sylvan Trails News Letter Notes from the Faculty The Sylvan Trails School November 2019 Phone Numbers: 0124-4249076/4219076 Gurunanak Jayanti Celebration 11.11.19 Children’s Day Celebration 14.11.19 Birthday celebration 29.11.19 Dear Parents and Families, With festive spirits and a cool breeze in the air, our students enjoyed all celebrations and festivals in October with appreciation for our rich culture and heritage. We had Dussehra celebration in the school campus. All kids dressed up in ethnicand looked stunning. They were filled with excitement as they performed arti followed by dandiya raas with the teachers. The theme of last month was 'COMMUNITY HELPERS'. Our aim was to create awareness about the role of helpers in our day-to-day life and their importance in helping shape our community. We reinforced this theme through various activities and crafts like Finger Puppet based on community helpers, ‘I am a little chef’, Fire extinguisher demo, Traffic light game, Spaceship craft, Mailbox craft, First Aid Teddy Bear Clinic. All the students thoroughly enjoyed these activities planned for them. Diwali Celebration was an important event of the month. Children enthusiastically participated in the celebration by decorating diyas and making rangoli. They adorned ethnic attire for the occasion and looked exquisite. They enjoyed a fun bash and dance. The 'Ramayana' was narrated to students to emphasize the victory of good over evil. The month ended with wonderful Halloween Party where kids dressed up as their favourite superhero, cartoon character, animal or fruit. It was a month full of celebration, festivities, fun and learning. This theme will inculcate an understanding that the whole world is one family. It will instil a feeling of love, peace, and brotherhood. We have planned different activities for our students to educate them about cultures, cuisines, costumes and languages of different countries in an engaging manner. Safety Everywhere The other theme of the month is Safety Everywhere. Every parent is concerned about their child’s safety. Be it home, school or any public place it is imperative to keep our child safe. It is necessary that we educate children about basic safety rules that they need to follow always in order to be safe.
