Dear loves ones,

The beauty of the springtime around usreminds us of the power of the resurrection.Because He lives, we can face tomorrow. We have many things to praise God for.

San Jose, Sonora Praise God that Hecontinues to call souls. With one of the SanJose brothers there, sharing the Word, there arenew converts. In November 2011, Sis. NepomucenoI wish that I could fully express just how much I love my life herein Nepo. I love that when I enter the director’s house in themorning to pick up the little boys, three three-year olds attack mewith hugs and kisses. I love that at lunch when I serve the boystheir food and greet them with a smile, I now receive great bigsmiles in return in place of the leery looks I used to get in thebeginning. I love helping Marcela in the afternoons and watchingher interactions with the boys and seeing her passion for thisministry. I love helping the boys with their homework at night, learning along with them, and attempting to help to the best of myability, and while sometimes I don’t always understand what theyneed to do or how to explain it to them, I love being able to offer asmile and encouraging word which at times makes all thedifference. I love watching movies with them on Friday nightsand having special lunches for them on Saturdays. I love thattoday after our special “American” lunch of cheeseburgers andpotato chips; I finally had the opportunity to give out the gifts thatI brought for the boys and the workers. I love watching 14 and 15year olds play with the tops, balloons, and bouncy balls that theyreceived as though they are the greatest things in the world.

I love going to youth group on Saturday nights with the older boysand to church on Sunday with all 40 of us packed into the minibus.I love watching the boys interact with each other, especially howthe older boys who seem so “tough” and “hard” on the outside arealways the first to kiss the baby and help the little ones. I justsimply love every little thing about my new life here….yes, eventhe hard and challenging moments because they make me realizejust how much I need to rely on the One who has brought me tothis place and filled me with His love to pour out on those who sodesperately need it here.

And while I do truly love my life here, it is not always easy and itis not always wonderful. I think the best way to describe what I

mean is by borrowing the following description from the book Iam currently reading. (It’s called Kisses from Katie and it hasbeen very encouraging to me. To briefly summarize, it’s a truestory about a girl named Katie Davis who went to Uganda on ashort term mission trip and after that life-changing experience, shenow lives there, has adopted 14 children, and started anorganization that helps thousands of people in Uganda). Anyway,as I read this book, I find myself being able to relate on so manylevels and with some exceptions (like the boyfriend part J) I feelas if I could have written the following, because it so accuratelydescribes my time so far in Brasil:

“If I had to summarize in one word my first weeks and months inUganda, it would be contradiction…. My life- especially myemotions- hung in the balance between absolutely loving my new

life in Uganda andbattling severeloneliness….Most of the peoplearound me didn’tspeak mylanguage, nor did Ispeak theirs. Thiscommunicationvacuum left mefeeling isolatedand forced to workmuch harder to

build meaningful relationships….During my early days here, Iwas learning so much- everything from how to eat foods I’dnever seen before to how to communicate through hand signalsand facial expressions with people whose language I did notknow.

My horizons were being expanded in the most amazing ways;my perspectives were changing every day; and my faith wasbeing challenged and stretched. All of this was so exciting tome. I didn’t want to admit that, in the midst of such a wonderfuland invigorating experience, I sometimes felt tangible pangs ofloneliness when I thought about how many miles away I wasfrom the people I loved. I spent many hours curled up in a ballon my lumpy twin bed, sweltering, often in the dark, and crying-partly because I was overwhelmed and feeling inadequate andpartly because I missed my family or boyfriend. Sometimes, Icried because I was simply exhausted….The contradiction

comes when I realize that all these experiences and emotions werereal. The happiness that gave me chill bumps was as deep as myloneliness. My sense of certainty about being exactly where Godwanted me was solid, but just as firm was the fact that I wonderedat times what on earth I was doing here. The frustration thatthreatened to overtake me on some occasions was just as deep andtrue as the unbounded joy I felt at other times. I loved my newlife; I truly loved it. But compared to the life I had been living, itwas hard.”

Every day I thank the Lord for bringing me to Nepo….Ipraise Him for the good days and the bad days, thechallenges and the triumphs, and for pouring out His loveon me and granting me the privilege of sharing that lovehere.

“More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowingthat suffering produces endurance, and enduranceproduces character, and character produces hope, andhope does not put us to shame, because God’s love hasbeen poured into our hearts through the Holy Spiritwho has been given to us.” -Romans 5:3-5

PreparationPreparation for the camp- meeting 2012started around September, 2011. There wasthe need for early preparation becausealthough the event takes place every year, situations and conditions change year afteryear. This is largely attributed to unstableeconomic conditions which always have arippling effect on virtually all socialactivities.

There was the need to arrange for lightingsystems, a supplemental power supply(due to intermittent power outages), watersupply, and other logistics to facilitate thesuccess of the meeting.

We also had to visit the churches in theregions to encourage them, organize prayer and all nightsessions, and to let them know of the activities planned.

ActivitiesThis year’s camp-meeting with an attendance of over 3500, isconsidered to be one of the best in recent times due to the earlypreparation, and the introduction of new activities. It started theevening of Thursday, April 5, with a Musical concert where thesinging groups of all the branches had the opportunity to ministerin songs. It also served as a platform to announce the arrival ofthe churches from the regions.

Actual services started the morning of the following day April 6,at 4:30 am. There were powerful and inspirational messagesfrom preachers like, Bobby Harley Neequaye, Mike Sackeyfio,Fred France, John Clottey and Ebenezer Otoo all based on thetheme, “ THE MERCY SEAT” Hebrews 4:16.

There was also a new innovation of adding Health Talk to theafternoon Bible lessons, and the attendance was fantastic aspeople from the vicinity also participated. We had to do thisbecause people are now becoming aware of the need to involvein periodic medical check-ups, which until quite recently was notthe culture because of financial constraints. So the free medicaladvice and check-up of Diabetes, hepatitis B and high Bloodpressure was very welcomed.

AccommodationQuite a number of the classrooms in the school have beenbrought up to an appreciable level of temporary habitation, andas a result virtually all members who attended the meeting wereaccommodated in the school. This year we managed to constructtoilet facilities in the building thereby doing away with thetemporary toilet facilities we provided over the years.

Presently, serious construction work is going on in the school inthe fixing of the door and window glasses. It started with the

large areas where work seemed to be slow because the pillarshad to be worked on first and the plastering took longer thanplastering a wall surface.

General ImpressionThe general impression was that the meeting was highlysuccessful. Next year we hope to be in a better position towin a lot more souls.

Scholarships, School Camps and Building Project

This year 80 students from kindergarten to 12th grade weregranted scholarships/bursaries for school. Some were given100% financial aid and some were given less depending ontheir family’s needs. Words cannot express how thankful weare to all of you who contributed to this project. It helps in ourschool’s budget as well as many families who benefit fromthese donations.

This year we have around 280 students enrolled. We have a greatgroup of teachers and students. Every week during the month ofMarch we had spiritual retreats at the Quinta Adonai for eachdifferent age group. This year we had excellent camps and greatbehavior. We are thankful for your prayer on behalf of our schooland our different activities. We really felt God´s presence in thecamps; in all the activities and in the students’ attitudes.

We were able to start the Cafeteria Project last month. Theworkers are fighting with many rainy days, slowing down theconstruction considerably. When this part is finished we will bestarting on the classrooms above the cafeteria. We are thankful forthe churches and individuals who donated towards this project.

Church Camps and Mission Visits

Oscar and I organized our annual family church camp duringEaster Week. We had visitors from different churches in Paraguayand Argentina. Each month we are also visiting each of theParaguayan outreaches and churches to encourage and uplift thebelievers in San Pedro, Ciudad del Este, Concepción and Bañado.

A Word of Thanks from GenesisFornera:

I would like to take this opportunity tothank you in Jesus’s Name for the NINEyears that I was considered for ascholarship at Colegio Privado Adonai. Ifit wasn’t the Lord moving in your heart tosend me this scholarship, I wouldn’t havebeen able to study in a private, personalized school.

I also thank the principals, coordinators, pastors and teachers for all these years ofguidance and teaching. Thanks for thelessons of each subject, the spiritualretreats, for each celebration and for eachactivity we participated in.

You all formed me academically andspiritually. You taught me to be a goodperson and to look to Him in all I do. I am

thankful for each teacher that cultivated this seed in me.

I learned principles and values that will guide me the rest of mylife. I pray that you will continue doing this for others, who likeme, have the opportunity to receive this scholarship to study in aChristian School.

May God bless you and once again, thanks…in the Name of ourLord Jesus Christ!

ACCFNewsletter - Summer 20126

The ACCMBC had a work team go to Kitwe, Zambia in August2011 to work on a washroom building at a school with just over300 mostly orphan children. Before we started, there was aconcrete pad for washrooms which was built in 2006 but fundinghad stopped and could no longer finish building the washroomsor the remainder school buildings. These children had basically ahole in the ground as a washroom for all these children. We hiredlocal brick layers to start on the block work before the teamarrived and the intent was for all block work to be finished but itwas only 2/3 finished so the work team helped finish the blockwork.

The waste water tranches and pipeswere installed completely by the teamwith “man wells” and then tied into acity sewer line. City water was broughtto the washroom building as well usinglocal labour.

With only one school building built in2006 and it can only hold about 100children at a time, so the children haveto go in 3 shifts which really only givesthe children about 2 hours of educationeach day. The teachers at the school are all volunteers andstruggle just like all the children to have one meal a day. Thelittle food they eat is basically consists of corn maise (nsheema)and some form of vegetables.

Most of the children did not have shoes , so our team brought flipflops down and distributed them when the second work team

came inFebruary2012. Theteam inFebruarystarted with 2sisters DianaRitzmann andDelia VuleticifromKitchener,

Ontario going ahead of the work team to help teach at the schoolfor 1 month. They found that the children lacked such basiceducation and that they had to completely go back to basicsbecause the children could not understand the curriculum thatwas supposed to be taught. The children are taught in English buta lot of communication is still done in their tribal language(Bemba) since 2 hours of schooling is not enough time to learn.

The Harmony school accepts any children, no matter how poorthey are or even if they have no shoes, uniform or schoolsupplies.

A work team of 5 more individuals came in March for 2 weeks,to work on the washrooms.

ArgentinaMocovi Mission For nearly ten years we have brought theGospel to this group of natives who live in the northern part of ourcountry. I need to confess that the task has required and stillrequires much patience, faith and prayer. Recently we celebratedthe baptism of four new converts (John Manuel, Olga, Margaretand Karina) who are a great blessing to the church. They want toserve the Lord in different ways and it fills us with joy.

We are visiting two new Mocovi communities and by next year wehope to begin evangelistic activities in those places. First we haveto win their trust and then announce the message of salvation. They are by nature very suspicious. This area requires a lot ofprayers.

Cuba I continue to visit the island of Cuba once or twice a year. This is not easy because there are many drawbacks. Sometimes itis difficult to obtain a visa, trying to bring Biblical material can bechallenging, setting up small meetings, the cost of travel fromArgentina (approximately $1,000 USD for a roundtrip). But theLord is faithful. In Cuba we cannot work for the Lord as ACCmembers. Since Castro came into power, it is forbidden to startany new church denominations in the country. The same thinghappened when we started the church in Paraguay underStroessner’s dictatorship. At that time, and for several years, weneeded the legal protection of another Christian group who werevery willing to help us out. May we pray to know the Lord’s way

for thisislandwhere wesee muchaffliction and extreme poverty.

Tucuman City For two months we have begun a new work inTucuman city which is about 300 miles from where we live.Traveling by bus takes me about eight hours. Each time we havemeetings in different homes with a group of 6 to 10 who comewith much desire to know God’s will in their lives. Among themare three medical doctors, a radiologist and a speech therapist. The dynamics of our meetings are very interesting because thisgroup is so well educated and are deep thinkers. They ask verydeep questions and take the answer from the Bible seriously.

We ask for your prayersupport and we thank you inadvance for your financialsupport which allows us tocontinue reaching out in thename and power of theLord.

Yours in Him,Omar and Stella Gava

In Zambia the average age of a person is 37 years old, 50% of thepopulation is under 15 years old, 10% of the population areorphans and 20% of the population is HIV+ which is the largestkiller and Maleria is the second largest killer.

We also helped out with a Care & Compassion program thatsupports those affected by HIV and teaches them selfsustainability.

These children in Zambia need our prayers so they can praiseGod for providing their basic needs of food and clothing. It is

absolutely amazing how happy these children are with so littleand how helpful they are when given the oportunity to doanything.

Moving foreword, there is a real need for 2 more school buildingsand a perimeter wall around the compound. It would be a realblessing to eventually be able to feed breakfast to the childrenthat come to the school and have a child sponsorship program.February/March work team 2012

CLMChange is a fact of life in any home, but at CLM it is multiplied. The arrival or departure of any child or staff member affects theentire ministry and has a major impact on everyone here. In pastyears, CLM would receive children and they would grow up atCLM, usually without any plans to leave. This became their home.Adoptions faced bureaucratic barriers, and were a somewhat rareevent.

Recent changes in the childcare laws in Brazil are requiring evenmore change in the way we minister here at CLM. Thegovernment is working to reduce institutional childcare and moveto a family-based foster care system. Children needing care andprotection would only stay in an institution long enough to find afoster family for them. Then they would hopefully be returned totheir original family once necessary changes have been made.Otherwise, an adoptive family will be sought. The government'sgoal is to have all of this accomplished for a child in a two-yeartime frame and to not have children staying longer in larger grouphomes except in rare, difficult cases.

A possible course of action to these changes would be to use CLMTurvo as the entry point for new children and also as a trainingcenter for Brazilian foster and adoptive families. The home atEntre Rios would follow the foster care model, we could dividethe facility into four units, with each unit headed by one couple. Our staff couples would be the foster parents for a group ofchildren in their own home, and would prepare them to live in anadoptive family. We would try to place any groups of threesiblings or less in a foster family outside of CLM and to place anysibling groups of four siblings or more within CLM. I believe thatthis system would be effective in preparing children to be part of afamily.

While this is a major change for us, there are possible advantages. For one, we may be able to help many more children. We can bean initial safe place for children from troubled homes. We can alsohelp in finding qualified families for them.Of course many foster

families and adoptive families are going to be needed. Familiesfrom Brazilian churches may be able to help meet this need.

There are unique challenges in bringing troubled, abused, orneglected children into a family, so we may also be able helpfoster and adoptive families learn how to care for these childrenand what problems to expect. Many adoptive parents have neverbeen parents before, and their first experience with parenting maybe adopting a ten year old child with a long history of struggles.

If we who are Christians do not step in to shed light on how todeal with these struggles, then who will? Because this type oftraining and support system for foster parents and adoptive parentsdoes not yet exist, the local government may be very open to ourefforts.

If we are to work in this way, then our focus will need to change. We will need to seek out like-minded families who have a desireto help orphaned and abandoned children. Then we will need toprepare them in how to best receive children, whether adoptive orfoster, into their homes. Finally, once they have the children, wewill need to help provide continuing support for them when theyneed it.

We plan to use the remainder of this year to prepare for transitionand training, so we can implement this new system at thebeginning of 2013. Please be in prayer for us to have wisdom aswe make these changes. Pray that we will be able to find lovingfamilies who will want to provide homes for these children. Prayfor good working relationships with the authorities in the child aresystem.

We thank God for your continued prayers and financial support.Kevin King

NepomucenoDear Brothers and Sisters,

"Remember, the very time for faith to work is when our sightbegins to fail. And the greater the difficulties, the easier it is forfaith to work, for as long as we can see certain natural solutionsto our problems, we will not have faith. Faith never works aseasily as when our natural prospects fail." George Mueller

“Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became thefather of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shallyour offspring be.” Romans 4:18

I have been pondering on the purpose of faith in our personallives as well as our ministries. That God would design faith, ourfaith lived out daily in our unique circumstances, as such anessential part of the process in seeing Him work flies in the faceof human understanding and often well outside our comfort zone.Orphanage work is just one backdrop in which faith can be seen,s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g, challenging, lacking, blooming. Caring for thefatherless is never easy or neat and tidy. God has something somuch better than “easy.” He is writing a beautiful story ofredemption. The amazing thing is that we get to play a part, butfaith is the prerequisite for anyone wanting to step into the storyof redemption. I’ve often thought that we will never have 100%of what we need in our service to the Lord. It’s my thinking thatthe Lord will often leave a gap or an unfilled need as a prod toour faith, so that we will remember to look to Him for all ouranswers, resources and emptiness-fillers. Our needs are meant tocall our faith to life, to draw our eyes to the only One who canmeet our needs, and to align our hearts with His purposes.According to James 1, faith receives more than it asks. Doubtloses more than it disbelieved. As you are living out your faithstories, please remember to pray and ask the Lord to fill with faiththe lives of the workers and boys alike. Pray that the Lord wouldincrease their faith, give them hope when their sight begins tofail, and that He would show Himself strong on behalf of theseprecious sons He has promised to be a father to.

We are so thankful for each worker at the orphanage whofaithfully serves in this part of God’s ministry. I thought wewould share just a brief paragraph from each of the three short-termers who have been at Nepo this year. Viktoria Fulop has beenwilling to stay through July, and we appreciate so much herspecial gifts that she has brought to this ministry and the love shehas for the boys. “Adonai Family is not simply a childcare, butserious ministry to save souls from the enemy! Get involved!Pray! Visit! Encourage! Support! Donate! Provide! Adopt a childspiritually and/or for real! Share the Good News for God’sglory.”Viktoria has been spending some time in Sao Paulovisiting friends, speaking about the missions, taking care of somedoctor appointments for healing for her retina. She is now backat the orphanage and investing in the lives of the boys. Pleasecontinue to keep her in prayer as she seeks the Lord’s will for herfuture.

Jessica Weisz has returned home to Canada. “I am doing well.Everything was good with the trip back, which I am so thankfulfor. I did come home to a very busy house, so it is a lot to processthe trip and all the things that come with returning home.” Pleasecontinue to pray for Jessica as she settles back into her life. Weare so thankful for her willingness to step out in faith and shareher time and love with these boys. She touched their hearts, andthey miss her.

Katy has passed the halfway point of her stay at Nepo, and by thetime you get this she will be thinking about home. “Thank Godfor the successful renewal of my visa last Wednesday! The wholeprocess was far easier than I anticipated and went so smoothly.Once again, I was reminded that our great God will supply everyneed of ours, praise His glorious Name! While there have beenmany surprises during my stay here, I know that none of thesethings were a surprise to the Lord. As He says in Isaiah 14:24,“Surely, as I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed,so it will happen.” So in both the good and bad surprises, I praiseGod and trust in His sovereignty. Please continue to keep theseboys, the workers, and this ministry in your prayers.”

Please keep the boys and each worker in prayer. You are Aaronand Hur holding up their arms in battle. Your prayers dostrengthen their spirits and hearts. Your support is vital to thisministry, this year more than ever.

May the Lord increase our faith!
