For g enerations ,every penny given towards educatingchildren in the Light of God’s Word, has been transforming lives.

Since 1959 lives have been blessed through the generosity of

God’s people. Christian education would not exist without the

blessing of financial support.

The legacy of giving and building a community of support

is of importance for Christian education.

Legacy giving, which really is planning a gift that happensin the future, provides opportunities for individuals to give in

ways that they otherwise would not think possible.

There are numerous avenues or giving tools that enable people

to share their resources and also benefit from tax savings.

Beacon Christian School Foundation holds a variety of

designated or named funds to support Christian education.

One of these funds is the Beacon Endowment Fund. The revenue earned on this fund is used by Beacon for

operational funding or as directed by the school board.

Endowment fund growth translates into greater sustainability

for Beacon. As a donor, you may also direct your endowed gift

to support the school’s bursary program or for other Board

approved purposes. You may also offer direction as to the

length of time your current or deferred legacy gift is intended

to bless Beacon.

Child named CharityOne of the most frequently made types of planned gifts is a bequestwithin a will. There are different ways to make a bequest. Two of the more common are by designating a specific dollar amount, or a percentage of your estate to a charity. Another way to make a bequestis to name a child called “Charity” in your will, providing a gift (equalto a child’s share of the estate or as a stated percentage) to be divided amongst your favourite causes. In many cases, this type ofgift will help to offset any taxes owing on your estate. The net impacton the inheritance to your children is in most cases minimal, whilethe benefit to the charity is considerable.
