The urinary system also called the excretory system is the organ

system that produces , stored and eliminates urine. Our body's

produce several kinds of wastes including sweat, carbon-dioxide gas

, feces ( stool) and urine. These waste materials exit the body in

many ways. Sweat is released through pores in the skin. Water

vapor and carbon-dioxide are exhaled from the lungs and

undigested food materials are formed in to feces in the intestines

and excreted from the body as solid waste in bowel movements.

Urine which is produced by the kidneys , contains the by products of

metabolism – salts , toxins and water – that end up in the blood. The

kidney's and urinary tract ( which includes the kidney's , ureter's ,

bladder and urethra ) filter and eliminate these waste substances

from our blood. Without the kidneys waste products and

toxins would soon build up in the blood to dangerous levels.

INTRODUCTION ABOUT HUMAN URINARY SYSTEM:

WHAT ARE THE FUNCTIONS OF KIDNEYS?

What is the kidney infection?

The kidneys have a variety of important functions in the body.

These include,

The main components of the urinary tract are kidneys, ureters,

bladder, and urethra. Any part of the urinary system may become

infected and this is generally referred to as urinary tract infection

(UTI).

Filtering the waste products from the blood as it circulates

through capillaries within the kidneys,

Regulating blood pressure, maintaining steady levels of

electrolytes (for example, calcium, phosphorous, sodium,

potassium, and chloride)

And , contributing to the production of red blood cells.

Lower urinary tract infection involves the urethra, the bladder,

and, in men, the prostage gland

Upper urinary tract infection refers to infection of the kidneys.

Infection of the kidneys is also known as pyelonephritis.

Urine, similar to other fluids in the body, is normally sterile without

significant bacterial infection. Therefore, the presence of bacteria in

the urine is considered abnormal and may lead to urinary tract

infection.

What are the causes of kidney infection?

Nephrofit

Typically, bacteria gain access to the urinary system from outside

through the urethra (the drainage tube for urine from the bladder).

The bacteria may then ascend in the urinary system and cause

kidney infections.

Kidney infection (upper UTI) is typically more severe than lower UTI

because bacteria may infect the blood stream (bacteremia) om the

kidneys.

Bacteria may travel from the rectum or the vagina towards the

urethra to gain entry into the urinary system. Other bacteria may

enter from the skin. Women are more susceptible to urinary tract

infections due to the shorter length of urethra.

Some of the common symptoms of

kidney infection include:

Fever

Nausea

Adbominal pain

Shivering

Shaking - chills

Painful urination (dysuria)

Flank and low and mid-back pain (dull kidney pain) and

General malasie

Vomiting

Kidney is a very important organ of our body and performs a main

function and that is to remove harmful substances that might

accumulate in our body as toxic material's.

If the function of kidney's are

impaired it might lead to building

up of toxins and bringing down

the functions of other organ's as

well.

It would be meaning less to take

care of your heart and lungs

when your kidney functions are

degrading. Therefore it is very

important that the functioning of

the kidney's is stable.

Why is the kidney considered to be the most important organ?

What is kidney failiure or renal failure?

Kidney failure means that kidneys have failed and no longer work

well enough to keep someone alive without dialysis or a kidney

transplant.

The word renal refers to kidneys, so you may see both of these

words used. Therefore, kidney failure and renal failure mean the

same thing—your kidney function is below 10% to 15% and you

need renal replacement therapy to stay alive.

UROLITHIASIS OR URINARY CALCULI (KIDNEY STONES)

CAUSE FOR FORMATION OF KIDNEY STONES:

Kidney Stones: Symptoms, Causes, and Treatment

One in every 20 people develop a kidney stone at some point

in their life.

Kidney stones, known medically as renal calculi, form within the

kidney itself or in other parts of the urinary tract. The condition of

having kidney stones is termed nephrolithiasis or urolithiasis.

Kidney stones form when there is a decrease in urine volume or an

excess of stone-forming substances in the urine. The most common

type of kidney stone contains calcium in combination with either

oxalate or phosphate. Other chemical compounds that can form

stones in the urinary tract include uric acid and the amino acid

cystine.

through reduced fluid intake or strenuous exercise without adequate

fluid replacement increases the risk of kidney stones. Obstruction to

the flow of urine can also lead to stone formation.

Most kidney stones eventually pass through the urinary tract on

their own with ample fluid intake.

Dehydration

Rather than having to undergo treatment, it is best to avoid

kidney stones in the first place.

Prevention is better than cure:

Drinking adequate water can help reduce the risk of kidney

stones. (The National Institutes of Health recommend drinking

up to 12 full glasses of water a day if you've already had a

kidney stone.) Water helps to flush away the substances that

form stones in the kidneys.

And that is precisely why we at oriens have come up with a unique formulation that has herbal extracts of cratavin obtained from the stem bark of crataeva nurvala and biopiperine .

How Is Nephrofit Unique?

Benefits of LupeolAn active compound found in crataeva nurvula:

Lupeol has been found to be efficient in reducing the risk of stone formation by way of preventing crystal induced tissue damage and dilution of urinary stone forming constituents. The compound is therefore useful in urinary health maintenance. Additionally, the anti-arthritic and anti-inflammatory effects of Lupeol have been documented.

The tri- terpenes in the extract has anti- inflammatory properties. And due to this it is extremely useful for giving support to arthritis patients. Studies also prove that it is said to enhance liver function and also helps in reducing blood plasma levels.

Active medicinal compounds are concentrated in crataeva nurvula stem bark, root bark and leaves. The preparations based on leaves extracts are applied for external conditions (wounds, abscess, rheumatic joint pain); herbal extracts of bark are good against urinary disorders and gastric conditions, and the root possesses lithontriptic and laxative properties.

A recognized feature of the 6000-year-old practice of Ayurveda is itspreoccupation with the proper functioning of the digestive tract, specifically the digestion and absorption of nutrients.

Nearly two-thirds of all traditional Ayurvedic formulas contain a special blend of ingredients, which includes black pepper, for this purpose.

How does NEPHROFIT 'S unique formula help in fighting against urinary disorder's?

CRATAVIN possess anti- inflammatory and powerful anti- oxidant properties.

Most of the kidney disorder's or urinary tract infections are caused by high blood sugar levels and high cholesterol levels

The normal blood pressure range for a kidney disorder patient is 130/80 mmHg.

As blood pressure rises, the risk of damage to arteries, heart, brain, and kidneys increases. Controlling blood pressure through healthy food choices and regular physical activity can delay or prevent the development of chronic kidney disease.

To strengthen the pancreas and to secrete more insulin and to reduce cholesterol deposition in the arteries cratavin is very beneficial , if blood pressure is brought to normal then the risk of kidney disorders can be reduced.

The anti- oxidant properties in cratavin helps to fight against cell damage and regenerates the cells.

Antilithic properties [an agent which reduces or suppresses urinary calculi (stones) and dissolves those already present]

The biopiperine extract in ORIENS NEPHROFIT helps in better absorption of nutrients that are taken while a person is on a special diet.

DIET FOR UTI DISORDER'S :

Take Carrot or orange juice diluted with water on 50:50 basis

every two hours for three days, and use warm enema daily

during this period.

An all-fruit diet for further three days, with three meals a day at

five-hourly intervals.

Fruit and milk diet for further five days. In this regimen, add

fresh milk to each fruit meal.

Thereafter, gradually adopt a well-balanced low-protein diet

Changing the Diet

People with reduced kidney function need to be aware that some parts of a normal diet may speed their kidney failure.

Protein: Protein is important to the body. It helps the body repair muscles and fight disease. Protein comes mostly from meat but can also be found in eggs, milk, nuts, beans, and other foods. Healthy kidneys take wastes out of the blood but leave in the protein. Impaired kidneys may fail to separate the protein from the wastes.

Nephrofit

Page 19: Nephrofit English book · Regulating blood pressure, maintaining steady levels of electrolytes (for example, calcium, phosphorous, ... For more than 3000 years Ayurvedic medicine

Potassium. Potassium is a mineral found naturally in many fruits and vegetables, such as oranges, potatoes, bananas, dried fruits, dried beans and peas, and nuts. Healthy kidneys measure potassium in the blood and remove excess amounts. Diseased kidneys may fail to remove excess potassium. With very poor kidney function, high potassium levels can affect the heart rhythm.

Sodium. Sodium is a chemical found in salt and other foods. Sodium in the diet may raise a person's blood pressure, so people with CKD should limit foods that contain high levels of sodium.

Cholesterol. Another problem that may be associated with kidney failure is high cholesterol.

Nephrofit

Increase fluid intake:

Calcium:

This is the most important preventive measure for all patients who develop kidney stones. It hinders the formation of stones by diluting the urine.. Patients should drink enough fluid to produce two quarts or more of urine each day. At least 50% of the total fluid intake should be water. In warmer climates and for physically active people, an even higher fluid intake is recommended.

Calcium from food sources is absorbed during digestion in the intestines. The body uses this mineral for many important functions. Any excess that has been absorbed is excreted or passed through the kidneys. The biggest portion of calcium in the diet comes from milk and foods made from large amounts of milk, such as cheese and yogurt. The calcium in these foods is usually easily absorbed.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:
