Samson® Feeder History

The Samson® Feeder started life in

the 1960’s as an Agricultural based Reception

Hopper for potatoes, carrots and similar

vegetables.

There were many similar “Hoppers” by

competitors but it was only SAMSON who

in the early 1980’s started development on

an “Industrial Version” to become the

Samson® Feeder.

The Samson® Feeder Design has evolved into a range of five

specifications suitable for different duties from light and

occasional use through to continuous heavy duty applications

The Samson® Feeder 380

Samson® Feeder 380 is suitable for light duty applications

with use typically up to 2,000 hours/year and for materials

with low bulk density and maximum 100 mm lump size.

applications typically up to 4,000 hours/year and materials

with medium Density and maximum 200 mm lump size.



Samson® Feeder 800 (the most commonly supplied) is

suitable for heavy duty applications with continuous use

including impact loading from dump trucks and large

loading shovels. Materials with medium Bulk Density and

lumps upto 400 mm.

Samson® Feeder 1600 is suitable for extra heavy duty

applications with continuous use including impact loading from

standard trucks on truck tippler, dump trucks and large loading

mm.

Application - Side Tip Samson® Feeder

Where site restrictions will not allow a

conventional Samson® Feeder truck

arrangement for End Tipping, then the

option of Side Tipping as illustrated can

be considered for Free Flowing materials.


Application – Discharge to any equipment

The discharge from the feeder

can be to a belt conveyor, Deep

Pan Conveyor, Bucket Elevator,

Crusher etc.

Indian Experience

In India, we started the active marketing of SAMSON

Feeders from the year 2010.

In the past six years, we have supplied more than 50

feeders to many Cement plants, Steel Plants etc.

based on the satisfactory performance, ease of

maintenance and the savings in operational cost

compared to conventional methods
