A large picture of Bruno mars is the prominent image for the music magazine. As Bruno Mars is a popular artist, this draws people to the magazine. Furthermore the magazine is easy to look at due to the easy contrast of his red shirt to the blue background.

The main masthead of this magazine is hidden behind the main artist. It is obvious by this that the identity of the magazine is less important than the stars is shows off. This is most likely because those looking to buy magazines, don’t go after the brand but the articles and stars within. Bruno Mars’ shirt is

used cleverly to bring him to the foreground of the image by contrasting to the blue background.

The largest text beside the masthead is that of the name: Bruno Mars. Again we can see the emphasis of the magazine of artist over brand, or even articles.

The article text is small, leading the readers eyes to be drawn to the artist and masthead. In this way again the emphasis is on artist over all.

KERANG is clearly in the background overshadowed by the image of Chester Bennington, again the magazine focuses on the main selling star of it’s magazine then the brand of the magazine.

This magazine contrasting to billboard, uses images of other bands and articles around the main image of advertising Linkin Park. In this way those who are not fans of them are still drawn to buy the magazine through the other articles.

A header is used at the top of the magazine advertising those things being given away within. The yellow background contrasts highly to the red in order to bring the readers eyes to it.

Yellow and white text are used throughout in contrast to the red of the background in order to grab the readers attention.

While it is subtle at the top of the double page spread it can be clearly seen that the article is entirely exclusive, this immediately attracts audiences as they cannot read it anywhere else but in person.

Half of the double page spread is taken up a photo of the magazine seller which in this case is Justin Bieber. By having such a large and prominent photo of him it ensures that the reader does not pass the article by.

A quote is used directly at the top of the page: interestingly it focuses on Bieber’s interaction with women. As his fan base is predominantly female this makes the article much more attractive to them.

Another smaller image is used within the article of Bieber and Selena Gomez another popular topic within Justin’s fanbase attracting the audience to the article.

As seen previously an image of the artist is used taking up half of the double page spread, in this way the reader is drawn the article by the star and do no ignore the text.

The largest and most prominent text is that of the singer: again any reader or fan would be drawn instantly to the article with the combination of both text and image.

The second most prominent image here is the flower, this adds a slight quality feel to the article and it’s yellow links into the overall theme of the article.

Again as seen previously a quote is used in order to pull the reader into the article, mass text is usually ignored by habit but the quote is intriguing and for this reason the article is less likely to be ignored.
