Keynote with Kendra Smiley 8:30 1-2 Double break out session 9:45-12:00

http://www.kendrasmiley.com/

Kendra Smiley is a popular speaker and author whose passion is to help others “Make the Next Right Choice.” Named Illinois Mother of the Year in 2001, she hosts a daily radio show, Live Life Intentionally, heard coast to coast on over 350 stations. Each year Kendra addresses thousands, nationally and internationally.

Keynote: “But Wait! There’s More!” Those two statements are the tag line of almost every infomercial. Yes, there’s more to come, an offer too good to be true. Those statements can also reflect an offer that may or may not be viewed as extraordi-narily good by Illinois educators. “But wait! There’s more for you to do in the classroom and beyond!” Rather than dwell on the increasing pressures and demands presented each year, let’s get back to the heart of teaching and take a look at the “more” educa-tors are already doing. “But wait! There’s more that is making a difference!”

Double Break Out Session: “Good Communication: It’s More Than Just Talk” Do you communicate, or do you just talk? The skill of communication is essential in every relationship. In this break out session, Kendra will guide you through the list of the “Top Ten Reasons People Just Talk and Do Not Communicate.” As you examine the list together, you’ll have the opportunity to develop skills for healthy and positive com-munication with others.
