Value for life – Perseverance
Dear Parents / carers
Eaton Vale meeting CHANGE OF DATE
Unfortunately, due to unavoidable circumstances we have had to change the date of
the Eaton Vale parent meeting to Wednesday 26th February at 3.15pm.
Request from Pine Class
After the half term break, Mrs Easter will be undertaking a craft activity with the
children in Pine Class. They are going to each need a shoebox (no lid required) so if
are shopping for new shoes over half term, please hold on to the box and send it in
with your child. Thank you.
Open Morning
As mentioned in an earlier newsletter, we will be holding an open morning on 20th
May. It will run from 10 to 11:30 (like last year). Parents will be able to spend some
time in their child’s class, attend collective worship, go out to play with their
children and finish with a cup of tea or coffee and a chat with me.

Payment for music lessons will be due after half term. They are payable on
SchoolMoney from today.
SAVE THE DATE *6th & 7th June
We are thrilled to announce that we are taking part in this year’s Norfolk and
Norwich Open Studios.
The school will be open on the weekend of 6th and 7th June showcasing a huge
selection of the children’s artwork alongside large-scale pieces made for the
exhibition. Every child will have artwork on show.
There will be refreshments available on both days so please put June 6th and 7th in
your diary and tell all your friends and family.
Sport Sport Sport
The last couple of weeks has seen Morley taking part in a number of sporting events
out of school.
SNSPS Basketball tournament at Framingham Earl High school on the 5th February
saw Morley 1 place second and Morley 2 place first. Well done to all that
participated in the event you all played to the best of your ability and showed great
sportsmanship during the match play!
On Friday 7th February we took some swimmers to Wymondham Leisure Centre to
take part in the SNSPS Swimming gala. It was a lovely morning of swimming and
sportsmanship, with the children showing great Morley School spirit and superb
behaviour. I had some lovely feedback about our children’s behaviour from teaching
staff from other schools with comments of how kind they were; supporting others
and how well they sat and conducted themselves. One very proud coach!!
On Wednesday 12th February, we took three children to the UEA to take part in the
SNSPS Panathlon. George E has kindly written the following report:
On Wednesday morning, Ashley, Aimee and George E went to the UEA in Norwich, to take part in the school games, representing South Norfolk.
We all took part in eight different sports, like basketball, football, bowling, bean bag throwing, target throwing, ball throwing and disk sliding.
We all enjoyed it.
Ashley said, “my favourite sport was bowling.”
Aimee said, “ my favourite sport was the bean bag throwing and bowling”.
George said, “I liked it very much. My favourite sport was football.”
Everyone got a medal and our team came 4th place with 36 points.

FOMPS NEWS Friends of Morley Primary School (FOMPS) are a group of parents and staff working
together to fundraise much need money to support extra resources for our
students. This term we have a few events organised which we would like you to
support.
You may have noticed a box in the reception labelled “Gift Amnesty”. If you have
received any gifts you would like to donate for future fundraising events, please
place them in the box. They will be used for Mothers’ Day Hampers or depending on
the amount, we can use them at our next event which is a ”Table Top Sale” on March
7th at Morley Village and Sports Hall. If you would like your own table to sell your
bits ’n’ bobs, tables cost £5 plus a cake donation. Contact Nic on 07795 481165 or
That’s it for now, please like our Facebook page ‘Friends of Morley Primary School’
to keep updated and if you would like to join our planning team, please let Lindsey
know and she will put you in contact with one of us.
Thanks for your ongoing support.

Residential Trip Payments
If it is helpful for budgeting, you are able to ‘drip-feed’ smaller payments at any
time on your child’s SchoolMoney account. If the trip has suggested installment
amounts and dates due, you can overwrite the amount at any time.

Can I take this opportunity to remind parents of those children in year 4 attending
the Eaton Vale trip in April that payment must be made in full by March 13th.
Plant to Plate scheme
Morley have registered with the EDP so any tokens collected from Archant
Newspapers would be greatly appreciated. We should be receiving a collection box
but in the meantime, just drop off any tokens at the school office. Thank you for
your support.
After School Library
The school library is open to all children on Tuesdays after school. Mrs Higgs and
Ms Braden are on hand to assist anyone who wishes to borrow books to read at
home! Pop in when you collect your child and have a browse.
