CHAPTER : SOUND WAVES

1 a) Diagram 1.1 shows a guitar. The guitar has strings of different thicknesses. A sound is pro-

duced when a string is plucked. A sound wave is a longitudinal wave.

Rajah 1.1 menunjukkan sebuah gitar. Gitar itu mempunyai tali-tali yang berlainan ketebalan.

Bunyi dihasilkan apabila tali itu dipetik. gelombang bunyi ialah gelombang membujur.

(i) What is the meaning of longitudinal waves? (1m)
