MINOR OFFICIALS CHECKLIST For the upcoming club season, all 15U Girl’s teams that are scheduled for officiating are expected to arrive promptly and to perform their Minor Official duties to an acceptable level as supervised by the match’s First Official/R1 & their team Coaches. SECOND REFEREE Always stand on the receiving and defensive side of the court. Keep your whistle in your mouth. On defensive side, watch for faults at the net and on the centre line. Make sure to use your whistle. Understand each player’s position on the court. Ensure the setter is standing in the correct position. For time-outs & substitutions, only whistle when coaches signal to you or when a player enters the substitution zone in front of the 3m line. Following the R1’s whistle to end each rally, always ensure to mirror their signals. Assist the Scorer & Line Judges in communications with the R1. Everyone works together as a team! The R1 may need you to help signal in/out/touch calls if you see them first. Confirm with the R1 beforehand. Review signals on the References Sheet or on the Volleyball BC referee’s webpage listed below. LINE JUDGE Be active standing at your corner. You should shift side-to-side to have better views.
