Introducing the Minac

The Minac range of complete mobile induction sys-tems is even easier to use than its acclaimed pre-decessor. A ready-to-use system, all that has to bedone upon delivery is: 1) attach a coil, 2) connectsupply voltage, 3) connect cooling water. In modelswith closed cooling systems, only the supply voltageneeds connecting.

Once installed, the Minac’s clear, menu-based andmultilanguage control panel ensures maximumease-of-use. Moreover, this simplified control/userinterface is common to all Minac equipment.

Many Minac models come in ‘Twin’ versions offeringtwo independent power outputs. The Twin versionsfeature split control panel displays—one for eachpower output.

Minac is simple to operate. Handheld transformers(HHT) feature on/off and precise power controls. Infact, the HHT is as easy to operate as a regular elec-tric drill. Flexible, water-cooled cables connectingthe HHT to the converter allow easy access to work-pieces.

Minac improves quality.Minac’s microcontroller feature lets you pre-settemperatures and ramp-up and dwell times. Preciserepeatability of heating cycles is assured.

Mobile, flexible and easy-to-use. The Minac brings the ben-efits of induction heating to tough-to-access workpieces.

The Minac range can heat practically any electricallyconductive material: copper, aluminum, steel, stain-less steel, titanium, brass, etc. It can also be usedwith a wide variety of coils—even ‘one-off’ coils thathave been tailored to your specific needs.

Packing more power into smaller cabinets has madethe Minac more mobile than ever. This, together withintegrated output matching (a feature standard toall Minacs), makes Minac ideal for a wide range ofapplications: brazing, shrink fitting, hardening, curing,straightening, heat treatment, etc.

Continuous automatic output matching ensures opti-mal power output for various heating operations, coilsand materials. A wide range of different coil configura-tions can be used without having to change a con-verter’s set-up. Simply change the coil and keep onworking. The operator does not even have to shut offthe water supply during changes—the Minac does itautomatically when the mains are turned off.

The Minac rangeMinac is available with maximum output power rang-ing from 10–220 kW at intermittent operation. Undercontinuous operation, the maximum output rangesfrom 6–140 kW. Minac systems have a standard fre-quency range of 10–25 kHz.

Twin power outputsMany Minac models come in a‘Twin’ version featuring two inde-pendent power outputs that canoperate simultaneously underidentical or different parameters.

Split displayTwin versions feature two indepen-dent control panels. Each displaysdata for its power output. Func-tionality is based on our speciallydesigned microcontroller.

Remote controlA remote control unit lets you con-trol heating cycles via feedback tothe microcontroller. Minac is avail-able with field buses and is com-patible with Profibus-DP, Interbus,Ethernet, etc.

Robot compatibleMinac can be adapted to anyrobot, allowing quick, no-fussintegration into automated pro-duction lines. The HHT can easilybe mounted on a robot arm.

Maximum output powerWith Minac’s maximum powerfeature you can, for limited periodsof time, operate with an outputpower far in excess of the con-tinuous output power.

Mobile inductionMany Minac models are lightenough to be carried in a normalcar. You no longer have to trans-port workpieces to the inductionsystem—often a costly and time-consuming process.

Range of coils Minac systems can be fitted witha practically limitless range of coildesigns. EFD Induction are spe-cialists at designing, testing anddelivering customized, long-lifecoils.

Minac is mobile, you can move it arounda workshop or factory floor when workingon hard-to-reach workpieces. Many Minacmodels can be loaded into a car or van andtransported to work sites.
