Jyothy Labs readies war chest for acquisitions Mumbai-based consumer goods firm Jyothy Laboratories has announced its intentions to acquire several producers or brands of fabric care and personal care products by FY 2014-2015 to aid its further growth. The company has raised Rup 2630 M (31 M) via preferential allotment of shares to realize the plan. This, together with internal accruals of about Rup 2500 M, is expected to be deployed in regional acquisitions, the company says. Jyothy Laboratories recently acquired Henkel India [Focus on Surfactants, Apr 2013]. Its product lines include detergents, soaps, fabric whiteners, deodorants and household insecticides. Enhanced reduction of surface tension and high compatibility lead to a high-performance product, ideal for various coating systems, while Tego Twin 4200’s 100% active matter content allows for its use in modern zero VOC formulations, the company reports. A perfume composition is formulated into a product. The formulation contains allyl caproate and ambroxan or geranium oil. The method is focused on a hair cleansing composition that contains an amphoteric surfactant, a cationic polymer, and an N-actyl-N- methyltaurine-based anionic surfactant.
