HOW DOES YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT REPRESENT PARTICULAR SOCIAL GROUPS?

REPRESENTATION OF CHARACTERSWith regards to Jordan’s character, we have resembled it to Johnny English with the way he acts, however we have changed his costume to something more relaxed and not stereotypical, we did this to make our movie more unique and unexpected. We

also did this to represent how Jordan is a submissive and is an amateur spy compared to Millie.

With Millie as she was the more sophisticated and serious spy out of the two we have put her in all back from feet to neck and her hair tied back to show she mean

serious and is not prepared to let anything get in her way. This represents how she is the dominant character compared to Jordan. Black clothes could also represent how she is important in this mission due to how she is the more experienced spy. A black

outfit also is a typical colour for a spy to wear.

Millie:Wearing all black which camouflages into her surroundings.

Jordan:Wearing bright colours to not camouflage into his surroundings.

REPRESENTATION OF GENDERWithin our film there is a clear contrast in gender (females and males) in which we chose to represent. The main thing that represents the gender differences is the costumes.

Millie wears black and correct uniform which would typically be seen to be worn by spies. The black uniform also represents sophistication and dominance. Whereas, Jordans outfit contrasts this as it is colourful and casual. Jordans uniform is not what someone who is a spy would typically wear as his outfit represents how he is an amateur and unequipped.

The script also represents the contrast in gender as Millie talks as she knows what she is doing and her main interest is to get the mission completed. Whereas, Jordan talks with confusion and didn’t seem to know what he was doing towards the mission.

The idea of the male being the submissive and the female being the dominant character is different to something like Johnny English. This is because Johnny English is seen as the important character, with the female characters being innocent and submissive.

REPRESENTATION OF ETHNICITY

Ethnicity is shown through the film opening as the two main characters are white British. We chose to use white British characters because of the limited amount of people we could have used to play them roles but also due to the huge fact that most classic modern comedians are currently white. This means we are following this lead with coping this idea.
