Media Campaign: Step-by-StepGroup: about 5 students – some things will be worked on as a group and others will be up to each individual, as a

group you must decide who will work on what.

a. Group: Choose either an anti-alcohol (MT Meth for alcohol) or pro-something else focus (Helena Skate

Park).

 b. Group: Create a slogan and logo for your message. These will be placed/used in all of your created media.

c. Small Group 1: Create an informational brochure. This is the main content requirement of the project and

must be included in your campaign.

The brochure must include the following:i. At least an 8 x 11 inch size piece of paper  

ii. Folded in some way with a title page on the front (not just be a two-sided poster).

iii. Clean, professional looking without eraser marks (typed or nicely handwritten).

iv. Use the entire paper, front and back; there should be no large empty spaces.

v. Content should include (at minimum):

i. Details about your product or cause:

1. What is the product or cause?

2. What are some specifics about it?

ii. Images/graphics to enhance the product or cause

iii. Statistics – ties in with theme/slogan (see math teacher for requirements)

iv. Contact section describing how to obtain additional information, etc.

v. Cite your sources on any information or wording that is not your own.d. Small Group 2: Create a 15 second commercial.

i. Story Board:

i. Each shot, angle, location, speaking line, music, and list of props must be drawn or listed out.

ii. This will be completed and reviewed by the whole group and Mr. Franzen before filming.

ii. Commercial:

i. 15 seconds in length.

ii. Completely original:

1. Follows all copyright laws (only non-copyrighted music and no clips from other films or 

 photographs).

iii. Support your message (the same message and logo as the brochure).

iv. Must include the following:

1. Slogan

2. Logo3. Clearly connected to a cohesive campaign, i.e. use the same color scheme, slogan, graphics,

etc. in all the products.

e.  Individual: Choose and make one of the following items to support your campaign:

i. Bumper Sticker, Button/Pin, Stickers, T-Shirt, Post Card, Mini-Billboard, Creative Road Sign,

Chalk/Graffiti Art Design

These items must:

a. Support your message (the same message and logo as the brochure).

 b. These support items must include the following:

i. Brief slogan

ii. Catchy image/graphic or logo

iii. Each item must be clearly connected to a cohesive campaign, i.e. use the same color 

scheme, slogan, graphics, etc. in all the products.f.  Individual: You must write a Final Reflection as part of the overall project, which should include:

i. A description of the purpose of your choice of topic/cause/product. Why is it important to you and

what were you hoping to accomplish?

ii. What was your expected result with this campaign? Were you able to create a quality, persuasive, and

informative campaign?

iii. How does each piece fulfill your intended result? Was it easy to take one message and use a variety

of media to share it? Why or why not?

iv. What did you like about this project? What did you dislike?

The reflection should be typed or nicely handwritten and included with the campaign materials.
