M=BUS® Tool Set The M=BUS® system is customizable to a wide range of applications in the field of impact testing. To grow with the demands of more complex configurations the system wiring has to be extended. The M=BUS® Tool Box contains a set of essential utilities for an easy and quick system maintenance and for the creation of custom-made arrangements. 1 Tools 1.1 Stripping Tool

The Stripping tool is used to dismantle and strip the Enviroflex® cable for assembling of M=BUS® cables. For this work special blade blocks have been designed. The blade block has to be chosen in accordance with the connector that should be crimped to the cable (refer to section 2 at page 4 and section 3 at page 5).

1.2 Crimping Tool

The crimping tool is used for squeezing the M=BUS® connector to a cable that was pre-pared with the help of the stripping tool. The stamping for .128“ (3,25 mm) and .028“ (0,71mm) of this tool has to be used in accordance with the assembling notes for the connector as described in section 2 on page 4 and section 3 on page 5.

This force fitting tool was manufactured especially for assembling M=BUS®-Cables. This tool is used to fit the cap in the angular plug by force.

Put sleeve (A) onto cable and strip cable insulation in accordance with the scheme.

Do not damage conduc-tor, dielectric and shield.

Stripping tool (block with 3 blades), wire cutter

Push and crimp pin (B) onto conductor

Pin (B) has to fit closely to the dielectric

Crimping tool (Figure 5): Pos. .028“ (0,71 mm)

Spread the shield and push plug (C) between dielectric and shield.

Shield has to get an even contact to the crimp neck of plug (C).

Push sleeve (A) over crimp neck and shield. Then crimp the sleeve to plug (C).

Sleeve (A) must fit closely against plug (C).

3.2 Assembling Procedure, Angular Plug

Put sleeve (A) onto cable and strip cable insulation in accor-dance with the scheme.

Do not damage conduc-tor, dielectric and shield.

Stripping tool (block with 2 blades), wire cutter

Spread the shield and push plug (B) between dielectric and shield.

Shield has to get an even contact to the crimp neck of plug (B). Conductor must not splice (observe through opening).

Push sleeve (A) over crimp neck and shield. Then crimp the sleeve to plug (B). The Con-ductor have to be sol-dered to pin (X).

Sleeve (A) must fit closely against plug (B).

Attention:

Do not bridge pin (con-ductor) and case (shield) with solder.

Crimping tool (Figure 5): Pos. .128“ (3,25 mm), soldering iron

Place cover (C) into opening of plug (B) and press it in with the tool.

Cap has to flush with the surface of plug (B)
