Revd Mark writes…..
Go for it!
Apologies …no heavy articles from me this month…all I want to do really is to encourage you, and seriously pray for you to take up a fabulous opportunity to learn more about and meet with God on Saturday 18th May. Details are on a full page spread following this….and again later in the magazine just to remind you again! We are welcoming a team from Ellel Ministries to Dungiven for that day to share scripture with us and tap into the deeper reality of healing in all its facets. Don't fight God. Don't resist the calling He has for your life. Maybe you're afraid. Maybe you feel you're not qualified and others could probably do a better job than you. Maybe you think you don't have all the resources. Maybe you don't know where to start. Maybe you are tripping over a history of baggage. Well I can say for certain that the Lord always knows what He's doing, even though we may not. He sees and knows why He is choosing to speak to you! He wants you and He wouldn't choose you, only to fail to equip you and make you whole for His purposes. So, book the time out….go for it….Saturday 18th May! Every blessing Revd Mark
they did some Archery, Crate Stacking, Zip Lining & Canoeing.

All sections will be finishing up their weekly meetings at the end of May with the Cubs & Scout Sections finishing the year with camps.

What is Ellel Ministries? It all started with a car - a 1933 Alvis Speed 20 Sports Tourer and a young English man called Peter Horrobin who loved classic cars. One glorious day in 1970, a friend from the Alvis Owners Club phoned to ask, “Would you like to buy an Alvis Speed 20 for £50?” But why was it so cheap? Well, unfortunately it had been stolen, crashed, vandalised, set on fire and dumped in the River Mersey! But the friend had arranged its rescue, recognising it for the special car that it was, even in that broken state.
Peter was thrilled to purchase his own Alvis Speed 20 and began to strip down the car to the bare chassis. At about 4.00am one morning, after a night working in the garage, he made an awful discovery – the chassis was bent. The car could never be driven safely with a bent chassis and he began to think that he would never be able to restore this lovely old car. Then, out of the blue, at that moment of terrible realisation, Peter became very aware of God speaking to him, there in the garage. Cars or people? Quite clearly, Peter heard the Lord say “You could restore this broken car, but I can restore broken lives. Which is more important? Broken cars or broken people?” Peter wanted to say the broken car! His compassionate heart responded to what God was saying and he never forgot the moment when God said to him “I can restore broken lives”. The first centre was established at Ellel Grange in Lancaster in 1986, hence the name carried forward. Today Ellel Ministries is an international, non-denominational, Christian organization existing in over 20 countries, and seeking to fulfil the vision of Luke 9:11 where Jesus welcomed the people, taught them about the Kingdom of God and healed those in need.

didn't want them to get wet outside praying for me' Can we seriously think this was all about love and care for another or was it lack of confidence in the people who were praying to sense their own Holy Spirit prompt and guidance to stop? I would suggest this was yet another example of pride/self-sufficiency/fear of God getting too close, which stops our growth and if continued in disqualifies us from God accepting us. I Corinthians 9:24. Even as I write this I have become more aware that it's easier and more comfortable to see another's pride filled ways of going on, than my own. Pride is often hard to detect and maybe it’s more useful to test our humility levels more frequently than continuing to live in deceit and be fake before God. One of my favourite passages is found in 2 Samuel 9; not only does God return is Mephibosheth land rights/source of income to him but He (I think) through David invites him to eat at his table every day for the rest of his mortal life. I think often we think that such 'charity' is for those who 'cannot provide for themselves'. Yet God’s kindness and the fact that one of His Names is Jehovah Jireh (Provider) is more universal than this. For the Believer we need to deliberately put ourselves in a place/attitude of dependency on God, grateful for any health that we enjoy, thankful for any way God chooses to provide for our needs. The fact that it is Him we need to ALWAYS be dependent upon and not our own efforts, essentially, helps to combat such a potent sin as pride. Jo Loney

Pride: 'God's Most Stubborn Enemy' this is one of the many jewels of truth from the Great 18th Century Revivalist Jonathan Edwards...he went on to complete quite a work on detecting spiritual pride. In God’s Word to us, we read that pride and arrogance brings shame, but humility brings wisdom. John Stott when asked how he cultivates humility replied 'I never avoid humiliating situations'. For those who are trying to follow Jesus and have been born again we are always to consider Him, Hebrews 12:3 One asks however, what does this all mean in practice and how can we detect pride in ourselves first and foremost. Perhaps we are resistant to help and would prefer to struggle along with our own insufficient resources. Help can be given through prayer ministry, a simple gesture from another or directly from God Himself. Without God, we can do nothing. It can so easily be hidden in us helping others and as a mind-set; resisting help. Pride also suffocates a sense of Community. Reading through God’s Word leads me to think this is what God wants for us, Community. I have heard comments like 'their need is greater than mine' so they have chosen to walk away and not be changed or receive physical blessing or a smaller blessing than God wanted for them. Is it more important for you to get into your car and go home than dare to experience God in a more significant and new way? For example walking away from opportunities for prayer ministry. I believe this brings MUCH sorrow to God’s heart for us. I had a friend who went to get prayed for through HEALING ON THE STREETS but then hobbled away when the Holy Spirit was clearly wanting to heal her further. She said something like 'I sensed healing in my left foot when they prayed specifically for healing and then they had a specific word about another pain I had, but sure it was raining and I

Dungiven Meal Run Ministry
The Meal Run ministry seeks to be responsive and flexible to bringing a meal to any one of us at any time to help show a bit of the love of God. It could be just for someone to show them some cheer in their day or to help out in a particularly challenging time. Please do not assume that we know of all the good opportunities, we don’t, please let us know if you or a loved one could be helped by this and we will see what we can do. Please continue to pray for the Meal Run Ministry.

Holy Week 2019 It was huge blessing to welcome Pastor Jason and Ali Shiels (from Liberty Church, Castledawson) to Dungiven during the first part of Holy Week.
Jason spoke powerfully on the theme of the ‘Great Release’, but those who came along have remarked how very blessed they were by the testimonies of by Dr Mark Riddell on Monday, Paul Ferguson on Tuesday and Ali Shiels on Wednesday. It was really encouraging to see some of our folk avail of prayer ministry each evening. There was a certainly a move of God, and an anointing that was tangible. Please pray for the seeds that were planted and for fruit to come from these special times of ministry…. we will see more of them….
