In the field of motor drive, power conversion technology is effective for energy saving. In the field of AC motor drive, inverter is widely used as AC adjustable speed drive. This inverter can generate variable voltage and variable frequency output from AC voltage source.*This is the basic circuit diagram of conventional Voltage source inverter. System consists of converter circuit and inverter circuit and energy storage components. It is an AC-to-AC indirect power conversion device. Its system is AC-DC-AC power conversion system. So, It is necessary for energy storage components.*As explained in the preceding slide, voltage source inverter is widely used as AC adjustable speed drives. On the other hand, various problems have been reported, as the number of inverters increases. Influence on power source is these. Influence on other devices by conductive noise. Stress to power source by input current harmonics. Influence on power converter is switching loss. Influence on power source is these. Insulation deterioration of motor winding by surge voltage.
