Mother Theresa’s ANYWAY prayer
People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of
selfish, ulterior motives; be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some false friends and true enemies; succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; be honest and frank anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; build it anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; be happy anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; do good anyway. Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; give the world the best you’ve got anyway. You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; it was never between you and them anyway.
Breathe in Love,
Exhale Peace.

RETREAT TONIGHT AND TOMORROW NIGHT
Church of the Visitation is hosting a retreat on “Mercy” given by Fr. Michael Renninger
of St. Mary’s Parish in Richmond.
Fr. Renninger is well known for his extensive knowledge and excellent presentations. He has given many
retreats throughout the diocese and elsewhere. He has also made several
video presentations for the diocese, and has a series of homily presentations on U tube. We are very fortunate
to be able to have him visit us.
If you desire to come and have not signed up, please see Eileen O’Brien after Mass. Dinner will be served each evening before Father speaks. We will be inviting other
parishes to participate with us. For our parishioners there will be no cost for the meal but donations will be accepted.
Please treat yourself to this retreat! It will be truly inspiring.

VIRGINIA BISHOP’S STATEMENT ON ACTIONS BY GOVERNOR AND GENERAL ASSEMBLY
The Virginia Bishops issued a strong statement about recent actions that contradict life and liberty and
their core. Their words of dismay and disappointment are outlined in a two page statement posted on the Bulletin Board in
the old Admin wing. Please take some time to read it.
THANK YOU’S Thank you to Bob Borden who installed a new commode in
the Ladies’ room in the old administrative wing this past week. In addition to his volunteer work
at “Hands Across Middlesex”, Bob is now hand-ling our routine maintenance and
repair projects. We need him and we thank him.

SCRIPTURE REFLECTION GOOD SHEPHERD On the walls of underground corridors and cemeteries where early Christians hid from their Ro-man persecutors, the most ancient representation of
the risen Lord was the image of the Good Shepherd. Figures of a beardless young man bearing a
lamb on his shoulders or playing a flute gave countless potential martyrs courage at times of great danger. A shepherd leads and
protects. Two thousand years later who are our “good shepherds”? Heroic men and women who make advances at great personal
cost? Older, wiser people who watch out for us and teach us by their lives? Children who dare to trust?
