MerchandiseAn online store would be an element of our marketing plan. This store would sell merchandise like apparel, posters, and physical copies of Andrew’s music on various formats. Apparel would be simplistically designed, featuring only a pastel-coloured logo on a black or white background. Rather than using an overcomplicated design like many musicians do on their merchandise, we have designed a minimalistic and fashionable logo that customers would be happy to wear. Limited releases could be used to create anticipation and encourage fans to purchase apparel which would serve advertise Andrew in public.

Live Shows• Domestic ToursAndrew would perform mainly at small venues across the domestic United States, allowing for more intimacy with the audience (dedicated fans).

• International ToursInternational tours would be less frequent, but larger venues and audiences would be necessary in order to offset the costs of overseas travel. Because of this more advertising would be necessary.

Concept tour poster: eye-catching art using modern stylised imagery will draw audiences.

CollaborationsOne way that artists can increase their exposure is through collaboration. Andrew Huang has a long history of producing work with other musicians, in the process reaching new potential fans through the fanbase of the artist he collaborates with.

This is one way Andrew could be marketed, by exposing him to fans of other artists that he has released music with.

Fan interactionDue to the online nature of Andrew’s content, fan interaction has always been vital to his success. Conventions like VidCon are an ideal place to market the Andrew Huang brand as there would be a large audience of potential supporters available to advertise to. Meet-ups and physical media signings would be part of these conventions in conjunction with live shows.

Social MediaAndrew Huang has a large presence on social media, with accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Bandcamp, Soundcloud, YouTube, and Instagram. These would be instrumental in marketing Andrew’s music as a large element of his popularity is visual. This is why design and colour is such a large element of our advertising plan.
