Capital  Commitment:  2012-­‐2017  

Goal  1  -­‐  At  least  70%  of  our  students  will  be  proficient  in  reading  and  math,  and  we  will  double  the  number  of  advanced  students  in  the  district.  

Goal  2  -­‐  Our  40  lowest-­‐performing  schools  will  increase  proficiency  rates  by  40  percentage  points.  

Goal  3  -­‐  At  least  75%  of  entering  9th  graders  will  graduate  from  high  school  in  4  years.  

Goal  4  -­‐  At  least  90%  of  students  will  say  they  like  their  school.  

Goal  5  -­‐  DCPS  will  increase  its  enrollment.

4th  Grade  Reading  2013  to  2015  NAEP  TUDA:    Scale  Score  Point  Growth  

DCPS  is  one  of  only  4  districts  with  sta6s6cally  significant  improvement  (out  of  20)  in  reading  and  it  made  the  largest  gain  (up  8  points  from  2013);  DCPS’  2013  to  2015  gain  is  the  largest  recorded  2-­‐year  gain  since  repor6ng  began  in  2002,  but  also  the  largest  ever  recorded  for  any  TUDA  district  in  4th  grade  reading.
