MANGERE EAST PRIMARY SCHOOL WEEKLY NEWSLETTER Monday 12th October 2020 A message from our Tumuaki / Principal – Mrs Stephanie Anich Kia ora t ātou te wh ānau WELCOME BACK - Nau mai, haere mai, Afio mai, susū mai, maliu mai, Talitali fiefia to our new students, their whānau, new staff and student teachers this term who we welcomed with a pōwhiri this morning. We hope that you enjoy being part of our MEPS whānau. Welcome back to all our students, whānau and staff - we hope that you had a safe and relaxing break. We have an action packed term and will keep you up-to-date through our newsletters and Facebook page. Our staff starting in Term 4 are: Ange Koia - welcome back! Thanks for stepping in to help us while we find a replacement for Karen. Janet Tuitama - providing pastoral support to students on Monday mornings. Whaea Bingo / Angela Behan-Kitto - will be supporting Te Poho o Rāwhiti as a Kaiāwhina. Heni-Ana Karanga - Learning Assistant replacing Roselyn who left for a promotion at Nga Tapuwae. Justine Kingi and Alana Fraser-List will be our new Kāhui Ako Learning Support Coordinators, based in our Whānau Centre, but not starting until late November / early December. Whaea Bingo Janet Tuitama Ange Koia Student Teachers HATS AND WATER BOTTLES - now the warmer weather is approaching, all children need to wear a hat when they are outside and bring a water bottle to keep themselves hydrated REMINDERS - all parents / whānau / adults / visitors MUST still sign in at the office in case any tracking of people needs to happen in the future. Please use the COVID Tracer App, or sign in using the tablet at the office. ALERT LEVEL 1 APPROPRIATE MEASURES Keep your distance - if you can feel their breath, you are too close. Wash your hands with soap & water regularly (at least 20 seconds). Wash your hands before you eat. Don’t share saliva - e.g. drink bottles, don’t spit. Keep your hands off your face, and each other. Sneeze or cough into your elbow if you don’t have a tissue. Put tissues straight into a bin. Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects frequently. Stay home if you feel unwell.
