Course description/aim : The aim of this course is to familiarize students with the discoursal and cognitive

aspects of writing academic essays, projects and research articles.

Course contents

: Starting from the academic writing processes to practising writing an

academic paper on a specific topic, the course presents an organisation from

introduction of an overview of the major elements involved in academic

writing, differences between academic and personal styles of writing, grammar

of academic writing, strategies to produce increasingly more complex texts to

creation of whole texts. The course focuses on the creation of bibliographies

and the structure of research report and papers.

Course description/aim

: This course offers the opportunity to study English on a course taught with a

business and aviation management perspective. This is a basic course designed for

B2 students of English as a second language to improve their written and

spoken business communication skills. The course aims to focus on level -

appropriate grammar, introduce vocabulary specific to various business

domains, and familiarize students with business correspondence and aviation

management. Alongside with acquiring such knowledge, the students will develop

certain skills like communication skills, analytical skills and information search skills

through case studies, presentations and assignments given as part of the course.

Course contents

: Starting from business environment to strategic planning, the course presents

an organisation from introduction of an overview of the major elements

involved in business environment, aviation industry, accounting, finance,

managing people and cultures, project management and strategic decision-

making. The course focuses on the effective use of English by providing an

input with authentic reading and listening materials and by building to an

output section where the learners are encouraged to practice their writing and

This course aims to deepen participants understanding of risk management

through the application of risk theory within the context of organisational

scenarios based on the different sectors. Participants will be introduced to risk

theory and application tools that form the basis for applying risk managment.

They will then utilise this knowledge to develop a critical risk analysis that

addresses identified risk areas within an organisation, and to diagnose the
