push myself too far. Let’s just say I was that crazy mom that when my girls would have friends come over, I’d be jogging around the house to get more steps than the person I was in competition with. Never sitting to watch TV but standing there jogging in place. You’d think at this point that I’d be able to run a marathon, especially since I’d stay up ‘til midnight just to get 35,000 steps in for the day, but NO! I have found a balance now and usually keep the competition to myself and the monthly challenge that the device has within the app. It will nudge me to move if I have been sitting still awhile or I am close to hitting a daily goal and I will get up and move around.

Now that the weather is warmer it will be easier to move more, get outdoors and breathe in the fresh brisk air of spring. It’s time to start working outside cleaning up brush, cutting back overgrowth, planting flowers, and cleaning gutters of the fall and winter leaves so that they drain properly.

May you all have a wonderful spring!

Hello and Happy New Year!

Many have started the year with resolutions to lose weight, eat healthier, quit a bad habit, go to bed earlier, etc. I hope your year started off successfully and is continuing to be the year you want it to be.

Although, I’ve never been big on resolutions, I try to keep healthy by exercising and moving more daily. One thing that helped me stay motivated was getting a fitness tracker. The daily challenges and competitions would usually encourage me to do better than the day before, of course that was until I would receive a challenge from a friend. It was at that point the competitive side of me came out and then I’d usually

Letter from the President

Greetings and štastné jaro,

The year 2020 somehow has a special ring to it when you say it out loud. It is the 20th year of the 21st century and the first year of the 2020’s decade. It is also a leap year which means we will have an extra day. I’m not sure if that means an extra workday or an extra day off. Since February 29th falls on Saturday, I’m adding it to the weekend list. The Jupiter and Pluto Conjunction will mark the new year 2020 as a period of regeneration and healing. It will renew the downturned sectors of economics and politics and will pave the path for new beginnings. The economy seems to be healthy enough, but we sure could use some help in the political arena. People are supposed to feel an inner instinct for accomplishment, success and achievement in 2020.

Out of curiosity I was looking back at some of the predictions that were made 20 years ago to see how they turned out. (1) Life expectancy was supposed to rise past 100. Not yet. The global average in 2019 was 72.6 years and 78.6 years in the USA. (2) Computers would be invisible. Yes, they are for the most part invisible, being embedded everywhere and in every aspect of life these days. (3) Your every move would be tracked. It seems that way. Whether we know it or not, I think that Big Brother is here and every move we make in our daily lives is tracked and collected by the government or a company of some sort. (4) We’ll have personal devices as companions. Well, look around anytime or anyplace and you will get your answer. People seem addicted to their smartphones and how many of you carry on a conversation with Alexa or Siri? (5) Humans will set foot on Mars. Not quite, but we’ve landed eight unmanned spacecraft on the planet’s surface. There were many more, but I thought these seemed interesting.

If you know someone who commits insurance fraud, speak up! Stopping fraudulent activity helps keep premiums down. If you know someone who commits arson or theft of property insured by RVOS, let us know. If that person is convicted, you could receive a reward up to $500.

The following RVOS fee schedule is being provided for your information and convenience.

Annual Policy Fee - $25.00Quarterly Fee - $5.00 per quarter

Monthly Draft Fee - $1.00 per monthLate Fee: $25.00 per policy

One prediction we can make and pretty much guaranty the outcome in 2020 is that the weather in Texas will be unpredictable. You never know just when or where a severe convective storm will develop as Springtime approaches. Don’t be unprepared or caught by surprise with the insurance coverage you have. Now is a good time to contact your agent for a policy review and update. Make sure your valuable assets are fully insured with the correct values and deductibles that meet your expectations.

Our Mission Statement at RVOS is to provide quality property insurance to its membership, continue to improve our current products, develop new products and provide sound management and customer service at an exceptional level that surpasses the competition. Here are a few recent developments.

In 2019 RVOS implemented new enhanced policies that are coverage specific to the occupancy of the property. This was done for the benefit of our members for clarity purposes and to reduce any ambiguities that might be associated with multi-occupancy type policy forms. Our new Customer Portal was rolled out in October at MyRVOS.com. as announced in December. This allows our insureds electronic access to policy documents, billing and pay history, claims information and more. You will be able to create your own online account that is available around the clock. Customer service is important to us. Contact your agent listed on the back page of this publication or the Home Office for any assistance you might need.

Best Regards and Naším cílem je sloužit vám.
