LOCATION REPORT

Pub• Whilst doing product research I found that
music videos of the alternative rock genre tend to have the subject matter of drugs and alcohol. A pub is a place where alcohol is dispensed and so is a good and convention place to be a setting in my music video.
• Furthermore, it relates to the lyrics of the song I am producing a music video for.
Convenience Store• As a setting in a alternative rock music video
it may not be conventional, but the store plays a part in the song where the lead has run out of money so he checks all his pockets to afford the items he’s put forward to the cashier.
• The lack of money occurs as he has an addiction and it is expensive to maintain.
Street/pavement• The street/pavement is a very conventional
setting for alternative rock videos as it reflects the ‘rough’ lifestyle.
• This is indicative of the lead in my music video as this is where he spends most of his time; causing fights and drug administration.
Rough neighbourhood• The lead lives in a rough neighbourhood and for a
alternative rock music video this setting is quite normal as it can convey a sense of violence and depression. Some feelings I definitely want to convey in my music video.
Home• The home is the lead’s place of privacy; a place
where he can let go of his pent-up feelings and also relieve his habits.
• The home in my narrative can be described as a sort of liminal space where the character can relax without opposition.
• The presentation of a neglected home is definitely conventional as a theme in alternative rock music videos.
