Indiana Credit Union Hall of Fame

Bradford-Scott is inviting Sharetec Credit Unions to become contributors to our blog. We are looking for Guest Bloggers to share tips and resources with other Sharetec Credit Unions. If you would like to express your ideas and thoughts that would be of importance to other Sharetec users, please email Megan Johnson at [email protected]. We would love to feature you! To see past bloggers, visit www.sharetec.com/our-blog.

Seeking Guest Bloggers!

*To show our appreciation for your participation, we will hold a drawing each quarter for a $50 Visa Gift Card for those who participate. Cole McCollum with Louisville Metro Police Officers CU won during Q3! To be added to our notification list when a new guest blogger article has been posted, email Megan at [email protected].

Many Bradford-Scott customers are making use of desktop auto document feed scanners from Ambir Technology. Unlike the high-speed scanning of a centralized multi-function printer, Ambir scanners can be located at the employees’ desks and they are inexpensive enough to have every worker have one who is involved with loan paperwork. Customers have found these scanners to be durable, easy to use, and a marked improvement over using a centralized scanner shared by a number of people. Ambir’s premier 60 page/minute scanner is currently a special promotion for Bradford-Scott customers (while supplies last). It is also bundled with a full license of Nuance Power PDF that creates searchable PDF documents and can convert scanned documents to Microsoft Office documents, making it useful for other departments too. For additional information, please contact us today.

Improved Workflow for Loan Documentation

Chris Wardrip, CEO at Financial Health Federal Credit Union, will be ending his 22 year career as CEO when he retires at the end of 2017. Mr. Wardrip was inducted into the Indiana Credit Union Hall of Fame earlier this year. This induction was a testament to the decades of service Mr. Wardrip had given to the credit union and banking industries in the state of Indiana. Prior to taking over as CEO of Financial Health in 1995, Mr. Wardrip served as SVP & Branch Administrator at Peoples Bank & Trust, Vice President/Group Product Manager at First Interstate Bank, and Vice President/Regional Operations Manager at Crocker National Bank.

On top of being a staple of banking in Indiana, Mr. Wardrip has also been recognized for his work in the communities of Indianapolis. In 2014, Mr. Wardrip was the recipient of the Cooperative Hero Award presented by the Indiana Cooperative Development

Center. This was awarded in recognition of his work as the President of the Board of the Pogue’s Run Grocer, which was the first food co-op located in Indianapolis on the east side. Mr. Wardrip was also the recipient of the Credit Union League’s Professional Achievement Award in 2013.

As demonstrated by just a few of Mr. Wardrip’s achievements that have been listed here, his 42 year career has been one of dedication to the improvement of the banking industry, along with a dedication to the improvement of his community as a whole. His everyday presence at the credit union is one that will be greatly missed.

Hardware Case Submission Standards

At Bradford-Scott Data Corporation (BSDC) we strive to provide quick resolution to your hardware issues. Whether your report is not printing, you are unable to log into your computer, or your laptop won’t connect – we’re here to help!

Occasionally hardware issues persist longer than necessary due to inaccurate information provided during the initial case submission. To improve resolution times and minimize disruptions from call backs, the following hardware information is now required when opening a hardware service case.

• Model • IP Address • Serial Number • Error Message (if applicable) • PC Name This information is either located on your equipment or listed on your most recent BSDC invoice.

Email cases opened through Support Center are the preferred method when placing a hardware service request. Email is the most efficient way for our hardware representatives to communicate with you as it saves time, assures accuracy, and eliminates missed calls. To speed up the process you will now be asked to provide the model, serial number, pc name, IP address, and error message if applicable, at the time you place the call or open the case via Support Center. If you are unable to provide this information at the time the call is placed, you will be asked to follow up on your case with the required information as soon as possible so the Hardware representatives can start troubleshooting the issue.

To open a new Hardware (Service) case:

• Populate the Subject line and include your detailed message

Please review the following Hardware Case Submission Standards document before submitting your email.

In versions 8.2.29 and 8.3.4 and above Sharetec has the ability to allow your members to freeze their atm/debit cards directly from Sharetec Home or Mobile Banking. Once the option is activated a button will be visible in the account history screen. HB Mobile

Power Users Around 50% of our Sharetec customers participate in daily discussions using our free e-mail list serve, [email protected]. To be a part of PowerUsers, please, e-mail Sara Mattax at [email protected].

Freeze Debit Cards

This button is selected giving the member the option of freezing the card. Once frozen any transactions on the card will be denied. The process to unfreeze the card is just as simple. In both instances the member will be given a message indicating the card status will be updated and again when the update is complete.

Your atm/debit cards must be real-time and your vendor must be reading the hot card field in the interface for this to work.

The functionality described resides strictly on Sharetec and the Hot Card information is not passed to your vendor. If you are in Stand in mode with your vendor, the freeze functionality will not work. (Custom programming could be completed to pass the freeze information to your vendor at the time the card is frozen/unfrozen).

If you would like to activate this function for your members, contact the Support Department to begin the process.

BSDC Halloween Week

Bradford-Scott Data Corporation (BSDC) employees participated in our annual fun filled Halloween Week. Each day had a new theme and our enthusiastic employees did not fail us!

Day one included childhood pictures and fun facts about our employees and fun was had by all guessing which employee went with each picture and fun fact. Here are just a few of the fun facts that had everyone laughing and scratching their heads till the reveal at the end:

See if you can guess the answers!

(1) My job in high school required me to field dress, skin and cut up deer.

(2) Attacked by a squirrel at Mount Rushmore.

(3) Appeared in a college calendar as the poster picture for the month of January.

We had a great turnout for our Halloween Costume Contest! Everything from “Cereal” Killers to Donald Duck appeared on October 31st to scare and delight! The award for best costume went to Joseph Crandal aka John Snow from Game of Thrones. Congratulations Joseph! Thursday our Admin Team kept up the enthusiasm with our Fall Bingo Game that included a ton of fun and prizes awarded to the winners. We had two carry-in days where each of our culinary wizards brought in their favorite recipes for Soup, Salad, and Desserts.

I think all of our BSDC Employees would agree that the 2017 Annual Halloween Week was the best yet!

Since July of 2017, Antoya, or as many call her, Toya, has been a valuable member of Bradford-Scott’s Conversion Team. Toya came to us with Data Analysis, Customer Solution experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. One of her favorite things about Bradford-Scott is the open door policy with the managers, and the family atmosphere she experiences each and every day.

During Toya’s free time, she enjoys painting anything from large canvases to ceramic figures, and occasionally does some Graphic Design.

Having a large family, including a Grandmother that just turned 92 years old, Toya has a great relationshipwith her 14 year old daughter that plays rugby, and her 9 year old twin girls that love to dance and do gymnastics.

“Soon after converting to Sharetec, we learned the basics needed to accomplish our daily functions and we got used to doing things a certain way. It’s very rewarding to learn better ways to advance the

credit union for our members and also for our staff to get a refresher course on things they have forgotten or didn’t even know they could do to improve their daily processes.” (costs will apply)
