Education brings humility and completeness. It is a holistic exercise which results in 3600 growth of our students. Building a sound character, enriching minds and including the spirit of innovation are a few objectives that we as teachers aspire to attain for our learners at LPS. With our motto of ‘Be yourself’, we want our students to be filled with enthusiasm, determination, zeal and an earnest desire to taste the nectar of success in life.

Our magazine ‘Lakshya’ has thoroughly revitalized and rejuvenated the world of learning for our children. It is not only the candle which illuminates their life but also the mirror that reflects the light to our budding writers.

It is platform for them to shine, to ponder, to express, to inspire to get motivated and to be educated. As rightly said by Francis Bacon "Reading maketh a full man; conference a ready man and writing an exact man."

Lakshya is a portrait of the school’s growth, academic achievements, cultural feats and a bridge between the past laurels and future possibilities. It is a continuous source of inspiration to soar higher with wings of imagination and perseverance.

I wish all the readers the very best of Luck.

The Laxman Public School was started by our founder Shri. Laxman S Agarwal Ji & Smt. Shyama Agarwal ji with the aim to provide outstanding education to all classes of society. The school has always tried to provide the best facilities for its students and teachers. A well rounded education consists of more than academics. Outstanding academics must be accompanied by the best facilities and teachers for sports, arts and other extra-curricular activities. The school must have an open atmosphere in which students, teachers and parents must be free to express their views without any fear. The school must always benchmark itself with the other leading schools of India and across the world. There is lot to learn from others in any field.

In the last year the school has increased and improved its facilities by a large extent. The attempt is to have the best facilities for sports, theatre, dance, music and academics in Delhi. The improvement will continue every year in the future. Our school intends to collaborate with schools across the world and in India, through exchange programs so that students of LPS get the widest exposure possible. Teacher training will also be an important part of upgradation of the school in the coming years.

The school also looks forward to having deep interaction with parents who are interested in the improvement of the school and it's facilities.

I thank the students, teachers and parents for being part of the proud Laxman Public School family.

With this I come to the conclusion of my report.

It is rightly said “In the right formation, the flying power of many wings can achieve twice the distance of any bird flying alone”, we owe our achievements to the team at LPS. The team members may have changed but the team spirit remains the same. The tradition of excellence continues.

I wish to thank all my colleagues who have worked hard and helped the school to earn laurels from all corners. My sincere thanks go to the Mrs Sunita Sharma (Headmistress – Secondary School), Mrs Gita Khanna (Headmistresses – Junior School) and Mrs Seema Gahlaut (Headmistresses – Pre Primary Dept, Classes I & II).

Shri Om Prakashji was the senior most staff member and music teacher of Laxman Public School. Right from the

day of inception and establishment of the school, he remained associated with it. He worked in the school for a total of 39 years. He was a very talented and versatile artist who excelled at composing music and setting to tune any composition in any Indian language. A harmonium player par excellence, he could play almost all other instruments with a natural ease and flair. An exponent of Kathak Dance and a trained dance teacher, he has been a beacon light for generations of aspiring artists. His life and breath was art.

He mentored many generations of students and teachers. Every year, the students prepared by him went on to win interschool competitions at zonal, district, state and national level. The prizes and shining cups and shields are a testimony to the rich harvest of awards the school collected every year. His untiring effort saw LPS winning 1st in Folk and Patriotic song at the District and Zonal Level and 2nd at the Inter District level just months before he breathed his last. He accompanied the students to Goa, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Vizag and various other locations to participate in competition at national level, organised by Bharat Vikas Parishad. The Annual Day and House functions reverberated with his soulful music and singing. He had a wonderful career at Laxman Public School. His loss is irreparable and irreplaceable. We all pray for the peace of his soul.

Dear Readers,

We know very well that human life is transitory. We spend a brief and unpredictable life on this planet. It is reason enough for all individuals to live a worthy and well deserved life- a life of which we should never be ashamed. When Macbeth frets, he says-

Out, out brief candle!

Life's but a walking shadow,

a poor player,

that struts and frets his hour upon the stage,

And then is heard no more. It is a tale

told by an idiot, full of sound and fury;

signifying nothing.

These words sum up the quintessence of human life. But does it mean that we can only despair, lose all hopes and do nothing? No, not at all. The brighter side of things is that though we have a brief tenure, even then we can aspire to achieve greatness and leave our footprints on the sands of time. This is how we can make our own destiny.

Change, they say, is the only constant in life. We have changed the title of our school magazine from 'The New Horizon' to ‘LAKSHYA’. Lakshya - our aim in life is a relevant and appropriate name for a school magazine, in our opinion. This is so because a meaningful life is one, that has a definite aim.

It is equally important that we nurture our dreams very delicately

“I hold fort to your dreams

For if dreams die

Life is a broken winged bird

That cannot fly.

The editorial team has worked very hard in compiling and preparing this magazine. We hope that you will enjoy reading it as much as we have enjoyed in getting it printed.

One day I asked God,“Who are you?”GOD in return replied,“Who am I”,I am you,I live inside youAnd each and everyParticle of this universe.I exist everywherebut man finds me nowhere.I am a voice that can calm a seaI am the one Who can stop the waves. The one who can Calm the storms inside you.I am an artistI’ve created thisbeautiful world,I am a life giver

I’ve sent mankind. On earth,I am a destroyerwho destroys the evil inside youand the evil that resides in this world.I am a healer, and I heal my children whenever they are in tears.I am GODThe lord of this Universe,Which I’ve created with my own hands. For every storm I send,I also send a rainbow. For every tear that drips from your eyes,I send a smile. And for every weakness in youI’ve provided strength that can

hide that weakness in you.People look for me,search for mebut tend to forgetthat I reside in their own selves.I am GODThe Lord of this universe,The ultimate truth of this world. But for you Who am I?A spirit?A belief?Either everything?or nothing.

“GOD”

In the depths of my heart,Dwell Secrets deep and dark.Deep mysteries lie together,Waiting to be solved forever. Not so fragile as it seems,Only if you know how it screams.A lot it has gone through,But still, there’s a lot to do.Like woods unexplored,It has been left,Waiting for someone who would steal it away...

DEEP SECRETS

Pollution Pollution is a very common word which we use everyday. The level of pollution is rising all over the world. But who is responsible for this? The only and simple answer is "WE". Yes, we have made this world so polluted. Do you know how much pain the Mother Earth tolerates when we cut trees? Let me tell you some benefits of trees. They give us food, oxygen, medicines etc. The roots of plants also bind the soil. They provide home to amazing creatures like birds, insects, animals etc. They make the nature so beautiful.

We all kill animals for many reasons. For instance for meat, medicines etc. Killing animals is not good for the environment. In November we celebrate Diwali Festival and many of us burn crackers. Do you know how much pollution is caused by those crackers? The level of smog increased in Delhi. It was hard to breathe. Older people and children suffered a lot. I request each and every person to please care for the environment.

If I get a magic wand I have many dreams which this wand will help me to fulfil. If I get a magic wand, I would make a beautiful princess with long hair and nice dress with a pair of sandals. I would go on the clouds and play there with my friends. I would build a huge castle in the clouds with trees of chocolates and toffees and flowers of Ice-cream. It would have a toy store, a library, a computer room, a kitchen, 5 to 6 bedrooms, a dining room and a drawing room. Every child irrespective of the status will be welcome there so that they can have a good time. I shall wave my wand and build houses so that nobody has to sleep in the open. As Cleanliness is next to Godliness, I shall make Earth a Clean and Green place and will try to educate others to contribute towards this cause. I know these are only fantasies but let us all do our bit and contribute to make our Earth a good place to live in.

Nature has beehivesIt gives us lifeThe sun is brightand Moon is there in the night

Tonnes of problems we face,

So why run away from the truth...

Life and Development are pacing,

The real wealth is the youth...

Todays youth was born in high time,

But now they have reached the age....

An age when values must be prime,

An age when the dirt of society becomes a cage...

Mature we think they are,

Bright leaders we think we’ll get...

But from them the bad path is not far,

Influence can make them Devil’s pet...

Plenty of evils are every where,

Evils like corruption, terrorism and addiction...

MY FIRST PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION Butterflies in my tummy did not let me sleep the night before my first photography session. It was a never ending night which took away my patience. I simply couldn’t wait to Unleash my passion. The next morning, my uncle had fixed up our trip to a wild life Sanctuary specially meant to capture nature’s magical moments. I got dressed in my jungle safari outfit, picked up my tools, my camera, and was ready to hit the bull’s eye. I was lucky to click my first amazing shot - 2 red squirrels sharing a tiny piece of nut. For the next few hours we kept clicking some more shots but they were nothing more than usual ones. I realized that one needs to be patient enough to hold on to one’s hope. Believe me - we all can stretch our limits! Meanwhile my uncle taught me about ‘aperture’, ‘editing’ and other crucial aspect of photography. Suddenly my eyes fell on a black panther drinking water at a stream. It took me no time to click this bold creature manifesting ‘no fear’ around. Finally towards the dusk we heard a loud, fearless roar of a lion. Eager to capture the Almighty we crept towards the direction of the roar but weren’t lucky enough to even have a glance of it. We called it a day and came back to our tents. I was totally awestruck when I inserted my camera’s SD card in the laptop to have a look at my day’s hardwork. I darkened the corners of some photograph and tried ISO.

It was totally an overwhelming experience for me. I will never forget my first formal session with my passion.

MEMORABLE BUT SAD INCIDENT On a warm summer afternoon after finishing my 6th std. final exam, I was very happy and relaxed and my mother came to school to pick me up and we were heading for my maternal uncle's place.

My Mother picked up our favourite pet dog a pug named Yen and both of us were playing in the car when suddenly Yen had a Heart attack and before we could understand or do anything to help, the poor-creature passed away in my lap.

We rushed to a nearby pet clinic but the doctor declared the dog dead then we rushed back home and gave him a ceremonious burial. We were so sad that we skipped our Lunch.

We felt we had lost a member of our family and the sad incident lingers on. Yen still lives in our memories.

We think wrong they never move up the stair,

Instead peer pressure adds upto agitation...

Agitation in confusion of taking a path,

But it ends when friends enter the scene...

Nobody has had a holy bath,

Peer influence can even make them lean...

The Youth of a country thus is precious,

It can build or destroy the future of a country...

It’s our duty to protect them from the ferocious,

Because the bright youth can only eliminate the evils of the society...

E-GOVERNANCE AS AN EFFECTIVE TOOL TO

CURB CORRUPTION THE FIRST TIME WHEN I WROTE WITH A PEN My hand felt heavy and my heart was overwhelmed because there was an ink pen in my grip and I was writing with a pen for the first time. This was the most awaited moment of my life. Nothing could stop me from making those shiny, blue, curvy alphabets. I felt like an artist, a grown up artist! I wrote happily as I didn’t have to get up repeatedly from my seat in the classroom to throw my pencil shaving into the trash can kept in the corner of the class. It was surely my first uninterrupted writing. My mind was wondering away filled with many thoughts such as which pen I would bring to school the next day as I had collected a few of them. Suddenly I realized I had written the same word twice, oops!! What a blunder I made! I started looking for my eraser to rub it off. Soon I realized how silly I was! How could I erase my pen’s ink? I missed my pencil then and wished I had that instead of a pen in my hand. I was soon all right to hear my teacher’s voice instructing the class not to worry about the mistakes as children were using pens for the first time. I was very delighted to hear this. Lost in my happiness without realizing I was about to sharpen my pen with a sharpener. As said rightly by someone “ Habits Die Hard!”

— Arjun Maggo, IV-C

WHEN I LOST MY PEN

I once kept my pen somewhere in my room and could not find it when I needed it. I searched for it everywhere in my room: on the table, under the table, inside the drawers, under the dressing table, under the bed, beneath the mattress. When I could not find it anywhere I got very irritated and asked my mother to help me look for it. While she was searching for my pen, my father came in and started laughing as he looked at me, My Mother too laughed at me. I got really puzzled and tried to find out. What was so funny. Then I realized that the pen I had been so frantically looking for was in my left hand. I got really shocked.

India is considered the fastest growing country with the largest democracy. However it is a bitter truth that our country’s development is negatively affected due to the rampant corruption prevalent in the system in Indian society.

Corruption drastically affects the economic growth of our country. There is no doubt poverty and corruption are linked. Not only is corruption in India worse than poverty, it drags the whole country’s development down by stealing its resources. 85% of public money doesn’t go to the poor. It results in accumulation of resources in the hands of the privileged sections of the society. And to make things worse, corruption also increases inflation.

Corruption in India affects all levels of the society but it’s in the administrative one that the biggest damage is done to the people and comes to exacerbate poverty. Even the most simple daily-routine administrative task cannot be performed

IT’S A PEN’S WORLD...

THE NIGHTMARE It was midnight and I was reading a spine- chilling horror story that seemed almost real. Although it was the most riveting novel I had ever read, I went into a deep slumber suddenly, I woke up and realized that my favourite flower vase had broken. I looked around to see what had caused it and i couldn’t believe my eyes. I saw the most hideous creature ever. My heart pounded like a drum and my knees shook like jelly. The creature’s eyes glinted in the dark like a cat’s. To my utmost horror, its long bony fingers stretched out towards me and goose bumps appeared all over my body. I screamed at the top

of my lungs and tried to move but my bones had frozen with fright. I opened my eyes and could feel hands all over my face. Then, I realized that these hands belonged to non other than my mother who had darted into my room upon hearing my piercing scream. I recalled the horror story that I had read before and smiled to myself as I realised that it was the horror story that had caused the spine- chilling nightmare.

without a bribe to the civil servant in charge of the paperwork. As a result the government machinery fails to address the problems of the people.

In this scenario the government has undertaken steps to implement e-governance throughout the country to curb corruption. E-commerce is basically associated with carrying out the function and achieving the result of governance through the utilization of ICT (Information and communication technology) ie Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), Internet, Mobile and computing technology to transform government by making it more accessible, effective and accountable by providing access to requisite information, enabling public to interact with officials; making operations transparent; and offering public services online.

E-governance will bring in more transparency in government function and make delivery of services more accessible, efficient and responsive. As there will be no direct contact between providers and receivers the scope of giving or taking bribes will be removed. Discretion is significantly curtailed by standardization of decision making processes, which are normally performed by computer itself.

Efficient use of e-governance will help the people to interact with the government officials. Maintaining records in computers will also reduce voluminous paperwork.

Implementation of e-governance would require the government to change itself - its processes, its outlook, laws, rules and regulations and also its way of interacting with the citizens. It would also require capacity building within the government and spreading awareness about e-governance amongst citizens. In this modern developing world e-governance appears to be the most effective means to eradicate corruption.

A Dream It was a nice morning. I woke up and saw something terrible - Aliens. Oh my God! I was shocked to see them. There was not just one but many. Suddenly I heard one of them saying, “Hello how are you?” I was surprised to hear that. “I questioned myself, Is it an alien?” Yes, it was an alien. First, I was scared of them. Then, I realized they would not hurt me. I was happy that the aliens were talking to me. We started talking to each other. They asked my name, age and everything about me. Then I asked them from which planet they had come “Mars”, they replied. Then I asked them how they knew our language. Suddenly I woke up and realised it was a dream and not reality. I wish I could meet an Alien in real sense.

A Pleasant DreamOne morning I was bit excited and a little nervous too. I was going to the school with my parents to collect my Annual Report Card. We left home at 8:30 in the morning. On reaching the school, my nervousness increased. All my classmates were there, some were happy and some were not so happy. We entered the classroom where my teacher was meeting all the parents. My teacher greeted my parents very pleasantly. I knew at once that she was happy with my result. All teachers gave a good report about me to my parents. But then I heard the voice of my mother, “Wake up! We need to go to the school to collect your marksheet”, she said then I realized it was merely a dream and I had yet to attend the PTM to collect my marksheet.

My Mysterious Dream One day, I was alone in the house. As you know it’s boring to be alone at home. I dressed myself and went out. The weather outside was very pleasent. Suddenly I saw a light coming from my backyard. I went there, but the light was hurting my eyes. But, I tried to go towards the light. When I went near the light it hurt my eyes. I saw a tree which had an apple, Something was written on the bark of the tree. “Take this apple, but don’t eat it.” I kept the apple in my pocket. Suddenly I entered a mysterious world. I was frightened. I saw a dragon sitting under a big and tall tree. A tree with lollipops and money. I saw a whale walking in the park!!! Flowers which could eat animals! A tiger with pink and red stripes! It was horrible. I found a suit which was very heavy. But then I saw an armour which I liked. I wore it and picked up a Sword. I was looking like a Knight. The dragon attacked me and I fought with him bravely. At last I killed him. Suddenly it started raining. I looked up and rain drops fell into my eyes and mom said, “Wake up, Saarthak. You have to go to school.” “Oh! It was a dream”, I said. But the apple was still in the pocket. I will never forget this mysterious dream.

THE RIDELife is like a roller coaster.

It has many ups and downs and twists and turns.

If you are up you will soon find a down.

If you are down you should be ready to start with a new up.

One should not feel fear.

Because his goals are near.

If you do some hard work

I am sure the upcoming jerk,

Will bring happiness to you forever.

At the end of the ride, you will feel pride

Because you have crossed all the hurdles

And successfully won the race of life.

— Urvi Kochhar (V-A)

I put my book near my bed

The pages of the book are Yellow and Red.

It is my best friend

Because it tells me secrets till the end.

I always give advice to my brother,

Books are friendly things to own.

but they will not call you on the phone.

They are never noisy when you are still,

They will comfort you when you are ill.

I got all this from a book,

If you want to increase your knowledge

Look into a book.

— Kamal (VI-B)

There are many books on everyone's bookshelves.

But there is one which is very special.

I have a favourite book of mine.

Which I have to read from the start to the end.

I don't give it even to the best of my friends.

Cause it is something that is special to me.

And what if it bends?

It will always stay close to me

Even if it's hundred times read.

— Ayush Panwar (VI-A)The SunThe sun is mighty.

The sun is bright.

It removes all darkness.

And fills my day with Light.

— Diya (I-B)

THE SKY IS THE LIMIT

The Beautiful - Sky The sky has the sun.

The sky has the moon.

The sky has stars.

But they are so far.

I want to jump.

I want to fly.

I want to touch.

The beautiful sky.

Which is so high.

Which is so high.

Before a holiday my father announced that we would go to a beach the next day. My mother said she would pack sandwiches, chips, juice, pizza and burger for the picnic. We were going

to have lots of fun. My sister and I decided to make castle on the beach. We picked up umbrellas, sunscreen, towel, some clothes and a mat. Thinking about our picnic, I went to sleep. Next morning my mother said "wake up and get ready for the picnic". My sister and I played in the water and made a castle. We also saw some shells with crabs inside them. We collected some shells for our collection. After playing for a while my mother called us for our lunch. We ate all the snacks that mom had packed. After having our lunch we again went to play in the water. We enjoyed a lot. I will remember my day on the beach for a long time.

— Ishaan Kumar (IV-D)

I love to go to a picnic spot on a beach especially on a sunny day in winters. In last summer vacations I went to a beach in Phuket (Thailand). It was crowded with many people. People were enjoying

in the clear water and were basking in the sun. The children were making sand castles and were playing in the water. I saw a group of people surfing on the high waves. The sun was shining brightly in the sky and the weather was also very pleasent. I could only see water all around. I was very thrilled. After some time, my friends and I splashed into the water. We had a swimming competition and I stood second. I also enjoyed paragliding, a ride on a watercraft and a banana boat. We made a sand castle and collected some sea shells to decorate it. We basked in the sun. Later, we had sandwiches, orange juice & some nuts in the lunch. In a while it was evening so, we packed everything and started moving towards the hotel. I felt tired but delighted.

— Suhani Parakh (IV-C)

On 9/2/16 we went for a picnic to Nehru Planetarium. We played many games and we had a lot of fun. We learnt many interesting things about planets and we watched many movies related to planets. After that we went to Gandhi Smriti. There also we watched movies about freedom fighters. The

movies made us aware about Gandhi ji 's life and the history related to the Freedom Fighters against the British. Finally we went to Nehru Park. Many eagles were flying in the Sky. Suddenly an eagle came and took away my friend's muffins. We played Kho-Kho with our teachers. I also played badminton with my friends. It was an interesting trip besides being educational. I will never forget that day.

— Lavanya Sethi (V-B)

When our school organized a picnic for us to the Pratapgarh Farms. I reached the school at 7:30 am all the children assembled together, we all prayed and after that the teacher divided us into seven groups. We sang and played on the way to the Pratapgarh Farms. After one hour we reached

the destination and they welcomed us very nicely. Then we got a card which mentioned the venues of the various activities. We went inside and had breakfast. After that we did lots of activities like sack race, bullock cart ride, camel cart ride, clay modeling etc. In the sack race, I stood first. Some of us also enjoyed applying mehndi on our hands. Then it was time for the lunch. We danced on DJ with our teachers and we had lots of fun there.

I wanted to participate in the annual function. First I went for my dance audition. I danced well and I was selected. I was very happy. Then from the next day onwards we went for our practice to junior wing of the school. We practised everyday. Next day we got our costume. It was a red track suit. Our make-up

was done in class XII C. I was very nervous but also confident of myself and danced as well as I could. When the annual day function was over I went back home. This was one of my best experiences at the school.

— Abhinav Bajpai (V-C)

I participated in a dance programme in the annual day function. First, ma'am called us for an audition. Then ma'am selected some girls and boys from our class. The theme was 'Celebrating Life with Good Health'. So we prepared a dance drama on that theme. Every day we practised from 8:30 to 11:30. Then the day came when we had to show our dance

in front of all the teachers. I was very nervous. I was an attacker, So the make-up artist made me look very scary. We had a black tracksuit, red robe and a red scarf. We did well in the function so Principal ma'am gave us chocolates. It was a lot of fun.

— Akansha Rawat (III)

I enjoyed my Annual Function. I was selected in a dance programme. It was a type of zoomba which was on the theme of “Celebrating Health” I was made an attacker whose favorite work was to destroy health. All the attackers were carrying a spear in their hands. At last a food pyramid was

made by some boys. On the annual day I was feeling very nervous because I was standing in front of the audience and all of us were wearing different costumes but I enjoyed my annual day. I would like to participate next year as well.

— Shubhi Pandey (V-C)

This was the first time that I participated in the Annual Day Programme because I am a new student. I was happy when I came to know that I was selected in Yoga. I started practising every evening from 6 '0' clock to 8 '0' clock. When I got my dress, which was Orange and Yellow, I felt very happy I was very proud of wearing the dress. When the make-up artist drew

My mother is a very busy person. She takes care of every member of the family. As a result of this she does not get much time to relax. So I help her in her work. I help her in folding clothes, watering the plants and buying milk from the nearby shops. When my mother falls sick I give her medicines.

When my father comes from the office I make a cup of tea for him if my mother is busy. I polish my school shoes and I also get ready on my own. When my mother cooks food I play with my younger sister and look after her so that my mother does not get disturbed. I love to help my mother.

— Soumya Mishra (V-B)

I love my mommy and always try to help her. I help her when she goes to the market by carrying the heavy packages. I polish my shoes everyday. Sometimes I dust the furniture when the maid

does not come. I give her a glass of water when she asks for it. I even dust my book-shelf and arrange my books. Sometimes I water the flower pots. I do whatever she asks me to do. I Iron my clothes everyday. I hunt all over the house for her spectacles when she misplaces them. I love helping my mother and I am always there when she needs me.

— Manish Chauhan (VI-C)

I help my mother in many ways. I help her in washing clothes and drying them. I also help her while cleaning the house and decorating it on the days of festivals such as Diwali, Christmas,

Holi, Raksha Bandhan etc. I also know how to cook food so when she is making dinner at night, I help her in cooking food. When she tells me to bring something from the shop I quickly bring it for her. She is a home maker so she has a lot of work to do. I try my best to share her burden. She also does many things for me. She takes me to my English classes, tennis classes and for my tournaments also. She is the best mom in the world.

— Ayaan Arora (VI-B)

I participated in Yoga on the Annual Day. I am

very good at Yoga but I was

not selected in the special group. However,

I was selected in the main group. I had to stand in the first row. I felt very nervous when I got onto the stage and took my position but when my parents, my teachers and principal ma'am said that

the programme was brilliant I felt very confident. Principal ma'am also said that she would give all the children a chocolate each. Our costumes were yellow the colour of the sun because we were doing 'Surya Namaskar' A picture of the sun was also painted on every child's forehead and on our tracksuits. My parents also shot a video of the programme which they sent to all my relatives. Everyone appreciated me. I really enjoyed participating in the annual function.

I was very nervous but the teachers calmed us and encouraged us. My mother and my sister came to see my programme. I was very happy. And even my best friend, Akanksha's Grandfather also said it was a beautiful programme. I enjoyed participating in the annual function.

My mother is a very nice person. She is the only person in the house who I think, is an all rounder because she looks after the

house in spite of being a business woman. She wakes up early in the morning to make our Tiffin. Then she goes to the office at 11:00 in the morning after doing all the work like cooking food, cleaning the house etc. When she comes home at 7:00 pm, she looks very tired. So I make a cup of tea for her. On Saturdays and Sundays, when she cleans the house or does some other work like folding clothes, washing clothes etc. I help her. When she is not at home, I complete my Home Work. Since I am interested in cooking I also help her in the kitchen by washing and cutting vegetables. All this makes my mother happy. She handles the office as well as the house nicely. My mom is the best mom in the world. I LOVE HER VERY MUCH.

— Tisha Khurana (VI-B)

My mother is the only person in our house who does the maximum amount of work such as washing clothes, preparing food, making us

to do our homework, folding clothes, putting them in the cupboard and much more. By doing all these things, she gets tired and when she wants to take a nap by that time my brother and I are at home. So, to make her happy and a little less tired I help her in some of her work. I help her in serving food, folding clothes and putting them in the cupboard. I do my homework on my own and sometimes when I am free I help my brother with his homework. I also help her in decorating the house on the days of festivals. I always try to make her more and more happy. She is the best mother in the world. I love her very much and helping her gives me great pleasure.

— Jiya Lamba (VI-B)

My favourite TV programme is man vs wild. This programme is Telecast on Discovery Channel. In this programme Bear Grylls

teaches us how to survive in extremely hot and cold places like deserts, Jungles etc. Bear Grylls also does hunting of animals for his survival. He uses waste and left over materials and things in his surroundings to show how to escape from dense forest, deserts, water and snow clad mountains. It is a very useful and knowledgeable TV programme.

— Vyom Khanduri, IV-E

My favourite TV programme is Science of Stupid. They show people doing stupid things in this programme like jumping on

a pogo stick, riding a rodeo bull, walking on stilts etc. It shows people trying to do things that they are not trained to do, for example riding a snow mobile . People hurt themselves by doing these things. It shows rides of such people who make me laugh so much that my stomach aches. It also shows the correct scientific ways to do those things. It is telecast every evening from 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm and also every night from 9:30 pm to 10:00 pm on the National Geographic channel.

— Chetan Agarwal, IV-E

Cartoons Cartoons Cartoons...

I Love them all...

Ben 10, Doremon, Tom and Jerry

and little doll...

They are my Life Line...

I enjoy them all...

Kisna, Chota Bheem and Bal Hanuman

are the best Super heroes...

I really love them all.

— Vaidik Arora, I-B

I like Chota Bheem because I like reading the comics of Chota Bheem. I also watch Chota Bheem on POGO TV. Chota Bheem has lots of strength

given by God. Bheem lives in a small village called Dholakpur. He eats so much of food and he likes ladoos very much. Chota Bheem becomes stronger when he eats ladoos. He always helps others and he is very good. Chota Bheem is very brave and intelligent. Kalia Pehalwan is a bad boy and he doesn't like Chota Bheem. Kalia always wants to fight with Chota Bheem and he tries to defeat him but Chota Bheem always wins. The King and his daughter also like Bheem because he can do tough tasks very easily. I also like Bheem because he is very strong and good to everyone. But I don't like him when he steals ladoos from Tun-Tun Mausi's ladoos shop because stealing is a bad thing. I also want to be powerful and strong like him and then I will help people. Everyone likes Chota Bheem because he has so much of power and I will also be good to everyone like Chota Bheem.

— Priyanshu Jaiswal, IV-B

My mother is a wonderful lady. She does all the work. Sometimes she doesn't take rest even for one minute. So I try my best to help

her especially when she is not feeling well. When my mother falls ill, I do all the work. I make food for my brother, I polish my shoes and I get up on my own in the morning. I am thankful to God for giving me such a lovely mother. My mother is the best.

— Jiya Rawal (V-B)

THE PROGRAMMES I WOULD NEVER MISS

My mother is the busiest person in my house because she does so much work on her own. For example she first makes my lunch,

drops me at my bus stop. Then she makes my fa-ther's lunch. So, I try my best to help her out in any way I can. Once my mother was ill and there was no medicine in the house. So, I went to the chemist’s shop and bought the medicine for her. I help her in dusting the furniture also. It is my duty to help her because if she can do so much work, why can't I help her a bit?
