Class size is limited and admission is competitive. All courses listed on this sheet must be completed before admittance to the Medical Center. All grades in the following courses must be a “C” or better with an overall GPA of 2.70 and all science courses must have a minimum GPA of 2.70. Students who are interested in the KUMC BS Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences are required to complete 57 prerequisite credit hours prior to beginning the Professional Program at the KU Medical Center campus. Because all prerequisites must be completed during the freshman and sophomore years, students need to ensure that all the KU Core Curriculum requirements are met. is guide applies for both the Clinical and Molecular concentrations. Students are required to complete 72 credit hours of junior/senior level course work to satisfy graduation requirements. All laboratory components of required Clinical Laboratory Science chemistry and biology courses must completed ON CAMPUS and IN THE LAB. NO virtual simulation or off-site lab courses are accepted. NOTE: Classes may count for a major requirement and a core requirement but may NOT count for 2 different core requirements.
