It has been a great week for the Khunt family with both Maahi and Veer receiving awards - Veer for dancing and Maahi for dancing and Kumon. What great news - congratulations to you both.

We love to hear about students’ achievements beyond school hours. Please let us know what they have been up to! This week has been particularly eventful:

Well done Kayva for singing your way to this Talent Show success! We are very proud of your achievement.

KJS Chess Team Success

At the weekend the KJS Chess Players joined t h e H o n g K o n g I n t e r - S c h o o l C h e s s Championship 2016, organised by the Hong Kong Junior Chess Club. The tournament, held at KGV, attracted over 340 players across schools in Hong Kong. This was a team event with 4 players in each team and 7 rounds in total.

During the tournament, the KJS team members cooperated and supported each other extremely well and at the same time made new friends with players from different schools. KJS had two teams, namely team A: Pak (6T), Wilson (6A), Andy (6L) and Harold (5K) and team B: Norawee (5R), Arjav (6A), Shreyas (6T) and Alex (2L). Both teams performed very well and achieved outstanding results.

After 7 hours of tense competition, Team A won second runner up in the team prize. The team trophy is now displayed in Ms. Thomas’ office.

The following players also won individual board prizes in the tournament.

Board 1 - 4th runner up - Pak (6T)

Board 2 - 3rd runner up - Wilson (6A)

Board 4 - 1st Place - Harold (5K)

Special thanks to the parents who spent all day supporting and encouraging us throughout the tournament and also thanks for Ms. Thomas for promoting and supporting Chess Club in KJS.

All team members had a great day look forward other tournaments in the coming weeks.
