The NDMVPS's K.B.T. College of Engineering, Nashik has been serving the society
of Savitribai Phule Pune University in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering,
ME Mechanical (Design Engineering) and ME Civil (Construction Management).
The purpose of this Newsletter is to provide information to the student-staff fraternity of
Nashik and society at large of the news, including relevant announcements and updates that we
believe are important to them. However, this newsletter is also a valuable tool for bolstering
morale, promoting unity, team spirit, motivating and rewarding achievements of KBT COE,

of plastic bags; hence for the promotion of eco-
friendly Paper bags use, the department
organized a Paper Bag Making workshop on
28th August 2018. Students actively
participated in the workshop and prepared the
bags from the waste paper.

Department of Computer Engineering
organized a workshop on Python programming
for the third year and final year students during
31st July to 1st August 2018. The sessions were
conducted by Mr. Tushar Kute (MiTu
Skillologies, Pune). Python programming is
mainly used for backend web development,
data analysis, artificial intelligence, and
scientific computing. The hands on sessions
were also conducted to explain the concepts of
Python programming like data handling in the
form of sequences, sets, dictionaries and
iterations.

A session on WordPress was organized in
Computer Engineering department for the third
year students. The session was conducted by
Mr. Shailesh M. Yawalkar. He explained the
process of website creation and blog creation
using WordPress. WordPress is an online, open
source website creation tool written in PHP. It
is the easiest and most powerful blogging and
website content management system in
existence. The session also included a hands-on
session where students created their own
website and blog.

organized a session on IoT and Blockchain for
the final year students. The sessions were
conducted by Mr. Shailesh Gunjal and Mr.

the Live IoT project of the company based on
Goat Farming. Mr. Vishal Chavanke explained

Network Parameters at the department. This
meter is capable of accepting voltage and
current signals with temperature inputs and

Department of Computer Engineering and
MiTu Skillologies, Pune has signed an MOU
for the purpose of strengthening the Industry
Institute Interaction. MiTu Skillologies works
for promotion of FOSS i.e. Free Open Source
Software in the IT industry. Under this MOU
training courses will be conducted on open
source technologies. Recently, a training course
on Python Programming was conducted under
this MOU for the final year students. This
MOU will benefit the students for industrial

Village Adoption program on 4th August 2018.
During this visit, the student designed and

Ms. Shweta Shardul guiding the students
Department of Information Technology
celebrated National Sports Day on 29th August
2018. The National Sports Day in India is
celebrated on 29 August each year. This day
marks the birthday of Major Dhyan Chand
Singh, the hockey player who won gold medals
in Olympics for India in the years 1928, 1932
and 1936. On this occasion, Ms. Mansi Bora
addressed the students on the history behind the
celebration of National Sports Day. Ms. Shweta
Shardul delivered a talk regarding the
importance of sports in day to day life. The

Mr. V. R. Sonawane (E&TC) and Ms.
Seema Jadhav (Instru. & Control Engineering)
attended a meeting-UBA 2.0 for West Region
at IIT Bombay on 28 July 2018. Unnat Bharat
Abhiyan (UBA) is the flagship program of the
ministry of Human resource and development.
It is inspired by the vision of transformational
change in rural development processes by
leveraging knowledge institutions to help build
the architecture of an Inclusive India. They also
visited Belgaondhaga grampanchayat on 13th
August along with Mr. S. A. Talekar
(Computer Engineering) as a part of UBA.

Ms. S. H. Jadhav (Instrumentation &
Control Engineering) worked as a member to
organize a program, “Today India’s Scenario
for Manufacturing Opportunities” by Mr.
Hanumantrao Gaikwad (Chairman, Bharat
Vikas Group) on 19th August 2018. In the next
session, Dr. Shailendra Gaikwad guided the
audience on “Positive Thinking & attitude”.

Department of Instrumentation & Control
Engineering organized an alumna interaction
session on 13th August 2018. Mr. Mayur
Dusane (Batch-2015) who has experience of
two years in Testing of Pharmaceutical
Machines PLC/DCS expressed his opinion to
focus more on practical-knowledge.

Dr. A. R. Kulkarni conducted a Meditation
session on 11th August 2018 for faculty
members of Instrumentation & Control
Engineering department. This meditation was
based on a published literature “Soham Dhyan
Sadhana” by Swami Makarandanath.

▪ Session on Daasbodh (04/08/2018)
Dr. A. R. Kulkarni (HoD) delivered a
session on Daasbodh for the staff members of
IT department on 4th August 2018. He
delivered the session on Sidhlakshana Naam
Samas. Following his session, a twenty minutes
meditation session also was carried out.

2018)
Department of MBA organized the
induction program for the first year students
during 1st to 3rd August 2018. In these days,
Mr. R. K. Jain guided the students on
importance of ethics, values and good habits.
CA Sanjeev Mutha guided the students on
skills required to build a successful career. Ms.
Leena Punjanbi (Alumna) who is working in
DISQ-TCS, shared her experiences. Ms. Neeta
Nigam addressed the session on importance of
soft skill for MBA graduates. Dr. Abhinav
Muthe guided the students on importance
health, regular exercise and maintaining proper
diet.

Women’s Redressal Cell
▪ Awareness Program On Menstrual
Hygiene Management (14/08/2018)
Women’s Redressal Cell organized an
awareness program on Menstrual Hygiene
management for the female staff and students
of the college. Mr. Swapnil Kumar Neeta
(Founder, Step Up foundation) also considered
as PADMAN of Maharashtra was the guest
speaker. He clarified the general
misconceptions regarding the menstrual cycle.
He also emphasized the importance of hygiene
during the cycle and promoted the use of bio
degradable sanitary napkins.
