1. The FRG meeting for HHC 14th MP BDE was held 12 July 2011 at 1800 in Room 10 at Maglin Hall.

The meeting was chaired by CPT Craig, Company Commander. Mrs. Jeanne Stearns, FRG Leader,

recorded the minutes.

2. Agenda

The meeting agenda was as follows:

I. Introduction

II. FRG Events

III. FRG funds and fundraisers

IV. Volunteer Recognition

V. Comments

VI. Wrap up

3. Introduction

a. CPT Craig opened the meeting.

b. CPT Craig thanked everyone for attending and described appreciation for the pot luck items

provided by FRG members in attendance.

4. FRG Events

A. CPT Craig described possible FRG trip to Six Flags St Louis, towards end of September (so

long as no interference with Regimental week during that month), to avoid current hot

weather.

a. Bus rental (57 passenger capacity) would run $800

b. Park entrance would run $28 per person

B. Unit will plan a Christmas celebration, preferably during the week immediately following

Trainees leave for Exodus just before Permanent Party leave dates begin.

5. FRG Funds and Fundraisers

A. Current FRG funds total $600.

B. Fundraiser(s) scheduled for this month include:

a. 25 July Pizza Inn in Rolla will host 8 person volunteer group to serve guests for a 4

hour block of time. Volunteers will receive tips and 15% of profit during that time

period. Flyers should be posted in area business and Brigade members can be

reminded to visit Pizza Inn during that date/time.

b. 22 July Car Wash to be held at Auto Zone, directly following Brigade change of

command ceremony.

C. Fundraiser(s) ideas to be considered for coming weeks/months include:

a. Commissary has offered blocks of time to volunteers to bag and carry out for

customers in 2 lines during store hours, to be approved by Garrison Commander

b. Yard Sale of FRG donated items, with MWR approval

c. Bake Sale(s) at Commissary, GLWACH, MANSCEN building(s), and/or Building 470.

Food Handlers will be needed during sales but baked items can be accepted from

volunteers. Baked goods have to be individually packed in plastic baggies / wraps.

d. Dunk Tank in front of Commissary, either dunking unit Commander(s) and/or 1SG

or “Dunk an MP” with PMO vehicle support.

6. Volunteer Recognition

A. CPT Craig provided Certificates to volunteers who supported the FRG in raising $400 during

local Flower Delivery in May 2011.

7. Comments

A. FRG members in attendance indicated to CPT Craig there may be more interest in attending

local attractions and/or events than traveling to Six Flags (hot, unappealing, not conducive

to creating better FRG cohesion). Rather, consider BBQ at Happy Hallow or possibly renting

space at new Splash Park in Saint Robert, and save FRG funds for better Christmas

Celebration in December.

B. CPT Craig also added that Commanding General fielded concerns regarding FRG’s welcoming

new Soldiers and families to the installation. Volunteers should be prepared to visit homes

of new Soldiers, to provide welcome packets and greetings to FLW and the community.

C. CPT Craig admitted Contact Tree is still being worked, with possibly asking specific

individuals in sections for support as POC.

8. Wrap-Up

A. Michelle Johnston, Carey Galushka and Jeanne Stearns indicated willingness to volunteer for

creating FRG welcome packets and visiting homes of Soldiers new to the unit.

B. Michelle Johnston offered to serve as POC for Force Protection section of HHC 14th MP BDE

for FRG Contact Tree.

POC for these meeting minutes is Jeanne Stearns, FRG Leader, 337-208-7430, or CPT Craig, HHC 14th MP

BDE Company Commander, 573-596-2793.
