Judge Dismisses David Haigh Claim Against GFH Executives London, 12 June 2015. Robert Dougans, a partner at Bryan Cave, the lawyer acting for GFH, makes the following statement on today’s hearing: “District Judge Ikram, sitting in the West London Magistrates' Court, on 12 June 2015 dismissed David Haigh's attempt to begin a private prosecution against Mr. Hisham Al Rayes and Mr. Jinesh Patel, senior executives of GFH. This application was an inappropriate collateral attack on civil and criminal proceedings in the UAE and was a crude attempt to divert media and public attention away from these proceedings. As a regulated financial institution, GFH is obliged to pursue credible claims of wrongdoing. We believe that the best approach now should be to wait until the UAE courts decide the matter. We do not plan to make any further comment at this time.”
