Updates in Otolaryngology SymposiumThe 7th Annual ENT in the Desert Symposium offers practicing otolaryngologists lectures and interactive panels focused on general topics of Head and Neck Surgery, Laryngology, Otology, Pediatrics, Rhinology/Allergy, and Sleep Medicine.

Dr. Chandrasekhar is a fellowship-trained otologist/neurotologist who received training at the House Ear Clinic and Institute in LA. She has held leadership positions at the most prestigious organizations in her field, including past service as president of the American Academy of Otolaryngology. Dr. Chandrasekhar is board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology in both Otolaryngology and Neurotology.
James Netterville, MDDirector, Head & Neck Oncologic Surgery

Dr. Netterville has been with the Department of Otolaryngology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center since 1986. As Professor of Otolaryngology and Director of the Division of Head and Neck Surgery, he promotes education and research in both voice disorders and head and neck oncologic surgery, his specialty. Dr. Netterville is also an executive member of the board of directors for the American Academy of Otolaryngology and on the review boards of five professional journals.
Richard Orlandi, MDDirector, RhinologyUniversity of Utah
Dr. Orlandi is one of only three fellowship-trained nasal and sinus specialists in the intermountain West. His practice focuses on the treatment of complex problems of the nose, sinuses, and anterior skull base. He is the principal author of the International Consensus Statement on Rhinosinusitis, published in 2016, and co-authored the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery’s clinical practice guideline on adult sinusitis.

Dr. Denneny has been an active member of the AAO since 1984, assuming his current role in 2o14. He received residency training in otolaryngology from the University of Pennsylvania and fellowship training in facial plastic reconstructive surgery from the University of Illinois. He has held academic appointments at the University of Texas - Houston and Indiana University as well as practiced privately for more than 24 years.

University of Washington
Dr. Merati is a surgeon and chief of laryngology at the University of Washington in Seattle. He has clinical expertise in office-based and operative laryngology, including complex airway, voice and swallowing. He also currently serves as the president of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Merati’s research relates to better understanding of diagnostic testing and treatment of vocal fold paralysis.
