Serving Him Together,
This month I would like to introduce you to several new members of the CMDA Atlanta Council (this is not a complete list, since at the
time of this writing several people were still prayerfully deciding their decision). Enjoy each of their bios below and please join with me
in thanking the Lord for the Atlanta Council and for their spiritual direction and the organizational leadership they provide. Also please
pray for the council as we meet this January 21st for an all-day planning retreat. This will be a very important time.
Please dont forget that all we do with CMDA here in Atlanta happens because of the generous financial and prayer support ofindi-
viduals such as YOURSELF. Would you give a gift to CMDA Atlanta this month? Detach the form below and your contribution will be
properly earmarked for the CMDA ministry here in Atlanta.
Jennifer Elliott is a pediatric dental hygienist, and she
has been so blessed to have been a part of the dental
profession for over 18 years. The Lord was so kind to
bless her with a HUGE heart for missions, and also the
opportunity to start a 501c3 to help spread that JOY of
missions to others. In March of 2011, the Lord had her
and CMDA cross paths at an annual dental convention,
and three short months later opened the door wide
open to go with CMDA to minister to those in need in
Haiti. Jennifer feels VERY strongly about each follower
of Christ USING their own spiritual gift that was given
to them, following where ever the Lord leads,
and PASSIONATELY and humbly being the hands and
feet of Jesus.
Steven Thiltgen has been married for 21 years
to his wife, Misty. They have four children:
Mary (17) Sabra (15) Millie (10) and Sophie
(7). Steve worked at Microsoft for 12 years
and then worked in international missions for
two years. During his full-time mission work,
he started a connection site:
www.medicalmissions.org, cofounded the
Global Health and Humanitarian Summit and
worked closely with the leadership on theGlobal Missions Health Conference. He has
worked with CMDA locally with Bill and also
with the head office in sourcing volunteers for
the CMDA mission programs. His family cur-
rently attends Stonecreek Church in Milton.
Dr. Paul Espy is a Urologist and is the son of one of our cur-
rent Council Member, Dermologist, Paul Espy Sr. Paul at-
tended Tulane for medical school where he was first intro-
duced to CMDA. After his training decided to move back
home to Marietta and joined the Urology Associates. Upon
the start of his medical practice, he had the good fortune of
becoming active with CMDA once again. As a matter of fact,
it was within the first week or two that Paul was asked by Dr.
Ken Rutledge to attend a weekly CMDA Bible study, where
they were just beginning a study through CMDAs Practice
By the Book. A great way to start a medical career! CMDA
has been the pivotal outlet through which Paul have been
able to participate in medical mission trips to Honduras andKenya. He looks forward to the opportunity to give back to
CMDA and to see how God will continue to use this organiza-
tion to foster the work of his kingdom within the Atlanta area
medical community.
Stephen M. Martin, MD and his wife, Marisa Lawrence, MD are the parents of three children, Stephen, Jessica and Christopher. Steve currently
practices part-time with Northside Urgent Care and Family Medicine and oversees family business interests and Marisa is a practicing plastic
surgeon in Atlanta. Steve, Marisa and their family are active members of the Church of the Apostles in Atlanta and have become increasingly
involved with medical mission work on an international basis. Steve is a board member of Amigos for Christ, an Atlanta-based outreach ministry
to Nicaragua, and Steve and Marisa have participated on several medical missions with this organization as well with the Global Health Out-
reach arm of the Christian Medical and Dental Association.
