Piave river is a sacred place for the local population because of the historical events that happened during the first world war: it became the line of defense against the Austrian and German armies who, after many attempts, failed to cross the river . The line resisted until October 1918 when, as a result of the battle of Vittorio Veneto, the adversaries were defeats and an armistice was signed immediately after.

PRIMARY SCHOOLThe primary school addresses to the children from 6 to 11 years of age.

This cycle of studies is compulsory and in Italy ends at the age of 16.The primary school attends to fundamental knowledge and abilities.

The primary school is organized on two models:

• full time system with two teachers for class.

•" Moduli“system , introduced ten years ago, with three teachers for two classes of children at the same age.

•There are eleven compulsory subjects. Only religion is the parents’ choice.Children stay at school for 27 hours every week. Some of them can choose to attend the optional workshop for 3 additional hours.

Most children who attend our school are Italian, especially from the local community, but some come from different parts of the world.

Children with special needs are included in our school, they work inside the class with special planning and are supported by specialised teachers.
