ISTOGEN Property Fund, a wholly-owned subsidiary of black-owned ISTOGEN Investment Holdings, is a South African-based firm specialising in commercial, retail and industrial property. ISTOGEN Property Fund seeks to grow exponentially over the next three years through acquisitions of strategic commercial and industrial real estate portfolio while packaging greenfield opportunities for future development as part of deal flow purposes.
Currently based in the continental economic hub of Sandton, Johannesburg, ISTOGEN Property Fund seeks to sustain and enhance its distribution growth to shareholders. In this regard, our focus is on strengthening the quality of its real estate portfolio, through acquisitions and disposals as well as refurbishments, upgrades and redevelopment of specific properties. Acquisition decisions are fortified by our rigorous investment criteria to ensure that yields are optimised.
Our highly effective team, includes an experienced corporate conglomerate chairman, a well established black empowerment component with a proven track record and a component of many years of Corporate /Investment banking, Risk assessment and Credit lending experience. The company's core focus in future is to invest and develop mixed-use inland ports in outer lying transit areas, as long as there is the main road and rail infrastructure to support the opportunities.

ISTOGEN INVESTMENT HOLDINGS – Board of Directors
Founding Executive Director and Interim Chief Executive Officer: Mr. Anele Nene is the founding board member of ISTOGEN Investment Holdings. Anele Nene has a long history in the commercial property industry. Anele is a founder of Tecino Wealth Creations a holdings company that owns various businesses in the manufacturing sectors and built environment services sectors.
Independent and Non-Executive Chairman: Mr. Gilberto Rodrigues is former Chief Executive Officer of Mota-Engil, a conglomerate with a focus on construction, mining, logistics and energy solutions. When he held this role, Mr. Rodrigues was in charge of the African market, and responsible for looking at how markets are performing. He handled the commercial side of the business directly, and oversaw the finances and top operations; Mr. Rodrigues also set policies and put them into effect. Over the course of an illustrious career, Mr. Rodrigues has garnered a reputation of distinction and prominence for the exceptional efforts that he has put forth. He received a Portuguese Republic COTEC Prize for Entrepreneurship for Portuguese who are Working Overseas and Demonstrate High Standards from the Portuguese Honorary Council in 2012, and he continues to strive for excellence in his every endeavor.
Additionally, he was named international Business Leader of the Year by Africa Investor in 2015 for growing the business’s worth from Euros 300 million to Euros 1,5 billion. He is now in the process of establishing an international business in logistics, construction and energy.
Executive Director – Interim Chief Financial Officer: Mr. Andre Du Plessis is the founding board member of ISTOGEN Investment Holdings. He graduated at the University of Stellenbosch (Cape Town) Obtain a B com Honours degree, Investment (management) Banking & Economics In 1994, he founded a company called Hyde Park (Capital) Finance (PTY Ltd in Hyde Park, Johannesburg. The idea was to establish a value added fund, funding business for a niche market ie. medium size corporate clients whereby these clients were assisted in obtaining funding.
Hyde Parks biggest advantage was that it identified a definite opportunity/need and that it understood this market and therefore could exploit it.
Executive Board Member: Mr. Terry Caphey Musiyambiri is a macro economist and charted accountant. Terry has extensive experience in organization development and has managed large projects in public and private organizations. He led the restructure of the Land Bank in line with the changing requirements in the new socio-politico-economic dispensation in South Africa. He was also part of the team that restructured national Department of Home Affairs, managed some capital projects in the Department of Correctional Services.
Terry was appointed the project leader to develop and implement (Balanced Scorecard) an organisational performance management system in 12 business units (Portnet nationwide). He was involved in a similar assignment for Fast Forward (previously PX – a Division of Transnet). United Nations Development Programme in the Lesotho Ministry of Economic Planning; involved in preparing annual state budgets and co-ordination of negotiations and donor funding for the Physical Infrastructure Sector (Water, Energy, Roads, Telecoms etc.). In Lesotho National Development Corporation, he was involved in Industrial and Strategic Commercial Developments for funding with the World Bank, European Investment Bank, AfDB etc. Financial Specialist for the Development Bank of Southern Africa; responsible for financial appraisal of projects and borrowers in Eastern Cape, Western Cape, Northern Provinces and Lesotho regions and macro financial budgetary issues
At Thebe Investment Corporation, Terry was the senior business analyst and a chief negotiator in the establishment of SA Express feeder airline. He was part of Thought Leadership Think Tank advising GCEO & Chairman of Telkom on Economic & Political developments and potential impact on Telkom 2016-2017.
Independent and Non Executive Board Member: Mr. Thakhani Makhuvha was Head of Risk Management Department at the IDC having joined the Corporation in 2004. In 2008, he was deployed to spearhead the establishment of IDC’s Post Investment Monitoring Department, which entailed, amongst others, the management of IDC’s private equity portfolio (i.e. unlisted equity, loans and guarantees portfolio).
He holds a Master’s Degree in Financial Management from the University of Johannesburg; an Honours Bachelor of Accounting Science (BCompt Honours) degree from UNISA; and a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from the University of Venda. Furthermore, he has read and completed Leadership Development Programme (LDP) with the University of Pretoria’s Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS).
Thakhani has been in the development finance and banking sector for over 20 years. He has previously worked, amongst others, at the following financial institutions in various capacities: Absa Corporate and Merchant Bank (now Absa Capital); African Merchant Bank (now AMB Capital); South African Reserve Bank; Ntsika Enterprise Promotion Agency, (now known as Seda) and at Standard Bank Group. He has served and completed his accounting and auditing practical training with KPMG in Cape Town in the mid 1990’s.
Thakhani has acquired international training exposures including the special Global Institute of Leadership Development (GILD) programme in Palm Desert, California, in the United States and other advanced risk and portfolio management; risk capital and operational risk management training workshops, conferences and seminars, and study tours on small business development financing and support in the United Kingdom, Belgium, Switzerland and Brazil. Thakhani has held directorships and chairmanships in boards of some of IDC investee companies including the Board of Trustees of the IDC Provident Fund and the Vice Chairmanship of IDC Employment Equity Forum. He has also served in various other

RetailThe development has made provision for The City’s retail Precinct as part of the transition is aimed at creating employment and providing motorists driving long distances with a one-stop shop solution. A greater focus of the retail is aimed at attracting large food retailers and bulk wholesalers to give locals an opportunity to buy in bulk and resell to the community large.
Environment InitiativesWe aim to improve the environment by taking action and involving the community working together to find solutions to current environment challenges.
