During the week of September 9 – 13, the entrance of the ISHCMC campus was adorned with colorful silk banners that flowed gently in the autumn wind, columns in every color of the rainbow, and a sign on the ground that exclaimed “SPIRIT WEEK!!!” in preparation for the SRC Spirit Week, which included the following themes: Throwback Day, Twin Day, House Color Day, Crazy Day, and Lazy Day.MondayMonday was met with a flashback from the past with both students and teachers dressed up in their most vintage garb for Throwback Day. On Tuesday, students partnered up with one another to dress up in similar outfits for Twin Day and also participated in an Arm Wrestling competition. Wednesday was House Color Day and students wore shirts in their house color. However, the activity that really riled the students and raised their school spirit was The Alphabet Game, which was organized by the athletics director, Mr. Bob Connor. Thursday was out of this world with Crazy Day! The ISHCMC community dressed up in their zaniest and wackiestwackiest clothes that would give the fashion police a heart attack. A mob of pinks, blues, neon greens, yellows, and purples crowded the school hallways. The event conveniently ended with Lazy Day. Students strolled and dawdled in the hallways with teddy bears in their arms and pajama bottoms dragging across their feet. The SRC also sold an array of scrumptious desserts ranging from rainbow sprinkle brownies to healthy strawberry oat bars. The cozy atmosphere was the perfect way to end the fun filled week.Young Joon Lee, the SRC President made some closing remarks regarding the spirit week, stating “I think the spirit week was really meaningful. The majority of students wore costumes related to the themes and everyone participated in at least one activity. Overall, I believe that the spirit within the school has been raised and the atmosphere has become more energetic. Lastly, the SRCs would really like to thank the parents and the students who have contributed to spirit week and supported raising the spirit.”
