L’Open design è parte di nuova scena di design che si focalizza sulla condivisione di progetti quale punto chiave per l’innovazione di processo per rendere accessibili oggetti di design attraverso la modalità dell’auto-produzione o l’utilizzo di macchine a controllo numerico (CNC)

Open design - definizione

Un progetto rilasciato in Open Design è pubblicato con una licenza che ne facilita la sua condivisione e che puo’ essere “prodotto” localmente.

L’Open Design si riferisce ad ogni tipologia di progetto che puo’ essere condiviso in formato digitale nella rete.

I principi dell’Open Design prendono ispirazione dalle idee applicate nel software open-source.

Livelli di Open Design

• Pubblicare lo schema, la documentazione, il codice

• Concedere il diritto condizionato dalla licenza di utilizzare, modificar e distribuire lo schema, la documentazione, il codice

• Concedere il diritto condizionato di procedere alla manifattura, alla distribuzione e alla vendita di artefatti basati sulla documentazione originale o modificata.

1. An Open Design is CAD information published online under a

Creative Commons license to be downloaded, produced, copied and

modified.

2. An Open Design product is produced directly from file by CNC machines

and without special tooling.

These preconditions infer that all technically conforming open designs and their

derivatives are continuously available for production, in any number, with no

tooling investment, anywhere and by anyone.

sue creazioni (basta gatekeepers)

• Ricevere feedback diretto dagli utilizzatori/produttori (basta sondaggi o focus group)
