SOME LESSONS LEARNED FROM THE WORK WITH THE PRIVATE SECTOR

The structure of a public private partnership must respond to the interestsof each partner, and it must, as well, generate a common purpose.

The main role of IOM as a neutral partner in the structuration process ofthe partnership, relies on the articulation of a flexible and dynamicalliance in which the information, confidence and common objectivesamong the partners are present.

One of the main objectives of this type of alliance is to achieve a properarticulation between the beneficiaries and the private enterprise, creating achain of value that guarantees the sustainability and the development ofthe productive activity of each one of the partners involved in the alliance.

The alliance must have clear and quantifiable goals (Social Balance), in

order to control and evaluate its results.

The structure of the alliance must be flexible and it should be able toadapt to the dynamics of the project, generating synergies in favor of theobjectives of the Program.
