What is an Interjection? An interjection is a part of speech used to

express emotion through the speaker. The interjections are clear to the reader. Filled pauses such as uhh, umm, er, and eh are considered interjections. Interjections and generally used at the beginning of a sentence.

The emotions expressed by interjections are often strong (surprise, disgust, joy, excitement, enthusiasm, etc.). Some languages can have interjections that don’t express emotion.
