• Created by a team of researchers at Lotus Institute

• Operated on notes platform• A Web application designed to

• IT acts as a space for virtual team discussions

Benefits of Team Room • Increase team productivity by discussing work in progress, asking questions,

sharing status, and clarifying issues that arise.• Team room provides an area for fostering and capturing communication

among team members, both near and far• Accountability among team members by managing and tracking work flow

and performance• By using the team room instead of email threads, you automatically receive

an audit trail of conversations and decisions• Shared repository for all documents.

Issues of Team Room• Main issue could be Internet Facility is not provided with Team

Room.• The Lotus struggled to develop Dominoe, a program that

would allow access to web applications as well as to internal application using Team Room.

• New Employers could learn faster which otherwise would take weeks to train them. But if the old employees does not maintained it properly no value is added to the new employees.

Issues of Team Room• But why would existing employees feed into the system if they don’t get

any reward for it.• One of the feature of team room is that it will archive anything after a

certain period of non use.• These issues created a foundation for KM System.
