Initial Impressions of the CLC: —is a no pressure situation to learn the Word of God. ~L. Panter —has allowed me to become closer to God and learn how to apply lessons of the Bible to my life. ~C. Jensen —has made me realize a lot of things, but especially that God loves you no matter what. I would recommend this class because CLC tells you so much about God and the teachers explain to make understanding easier. ~M. Holbert —has impacted me by being able to understand the Bible more and what it s saying. Its also in- fluenced me to start reading the Bible more because I actually know how to read and understand it. ~K. Kendall —has impacted me in a good way because it makes learning Bible history not so boring. My first impression of this class is that it is very fun and welcoming. ~E. Fields —is a great opportunity to meet new people and expand your knowledge of God and the Bible. I was surprised at how easy going the class is while remaining productive. There is no stress or worrying about anything. ~T. Ensley —gives me the opportunity to grow my relationship with God. Since I have it in the morning it helps me get my day on track and creates a more joyful mood for the day. This class also gives me new friends. ~R. Porter —has changed my view of school. ~Z. Prater —has helped me be more confident in sharing my faith with people around me. ~T. Giet —its a place to come during school where there is no stress. This class is an everyday reminder to me that God is in control no matter what happens in the day. He is good. ~R. Bruce —The environment is great. The teachers are fantastic at what they do, and you feel like a family in your class. You leave everyday feeling like your heart is full and you get to learn about God and Jesus which is awesome. To me CLC means family and spending time doing things you love with people you love. It has influenced my walk with God tremendously and helped me to grow in knowledge and understanding of Him. CLC makes my days a little brighter and reminds me of who I am called to be. ~A. Burger —It has helped me make more friends and take some stress off of me from other classes. ~M. Jones —gives me a class to look forward to because I get to learn God s Word and it helps me through all the other classes and parts of my day. The class has furthered my relationship with God from learning His Word and has allowed me to grow not only closer to God but also closer to others. ~K. Holloway

  • Stakeholder Meeting Message on March 13, 2020

Matthew 13:1-9, 18-23 Parable of the Sower (soils)

In the first twenty years CLC sowed seed that fell along the path – likened to that seed are the stu-

dents that saw the property – maybe even parked in the CLC parking lot; passed the building and

even saw or read the exterior sign daily but they never registered for a class – never even came

    inside to “check it out”.

The rocky soil students are those that registered because their girlfriend did or their friend or

sibling recommended the class, but then coach says they need weight training or driver’s ed opens

up and they get their schedules changed. Other opportunities took them from the course.

The students that are like the seed among the weeds are students that hear but are unable to

apply it because they can’t stop worrying about life, sports, dating, friends, popularity, money, etc.

They register, take the class, hear the word taught, but never accept the word as God’s word –they

may even like what the Bible says but never apply it to their personal lives.

But the deep and weed-less soil are those that are plentiful and abound in growth. These

students hear the word, accept it and apply the Word. Most of this good soil was tilled and nurtured

by their families and home churches before entering the CLC. These students are ready to receive

and nurture His Word for much good fruit.

CLC former students and former staff are currently serving all over the world – some in full

time ministry; others serving the Lord fulltime in secular jobs. But of course, some were not recep-

tive and are not following the Lord (YET!) The percentages of how many students that were good

soil is unknown. With absolute certainty 100% of the over 2500 students that took CLC in our first 20

    years:

    *Heard the gospel *Memorized scriptures

*Were prayed for *Had questions answered

*Shared prayer requests *Were listened to

*Were told God loves them individually *Laughed

*Play games – good wholesome fun (NERTZ) *Watched Christian movies

*Heard about missions *Had a quiet time

*Had opportunities during class to do service projects

*Spent time with Christian adults that truly care for them – their present and future

*Had opportunity to get to know Christian students from their high school

*Meet and get to know Christian students from other churches

Not all 100% were good dirt – but the seed, God’s word is good, it’s perfect! It will complete it’s

mission…and it doesn’t return void. Isaiah 55:11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My

mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the

thing for which I sent it.

Our last twenty years have been good, very good…but we have a hope (in Christ alone) of an

even brighter future. When CLC staff looks back at the 40 year marker they will see…God’s hand of

    provision and guidance.

May God continue to make a way for the CLC to encourage students with His

living, eternal word; to give them the HOPE they are so desperate for at this

    time in their lives.

  • Students, staff, and volunteers worked together to pull

up carpet and prepare for new flooring. Thank you,

Mr. Giet for installing the floors, baseboards, and new trim. Job well done! We have beautiful, clean

flooring for many years and students to come.

    Whatever

    you do,

    work at

    it with all

    your heart,

    as working

    for the

    Lord..
