Masthead:- For my masthead, I looked at the Kerrang! logo. I found that it was usually white on black or vice versa. I also saw that it went across the whole page so I used this idea for my own logo except I used black on cream.-Also Kerrang! logo finishes with an exclamation mark and I have finished my logo with three ellipses.-The Kerrang! logo is written in capitals and my logo is written in lower case.

House Style:- The colours I decided to use as my house colours were black,

grey/silver and cream/white- House Style for Kerrang! – Black, White, Yellow- House Style for NME – Black, White, Red- House Style for Q – Black, White, Red and Gold

Main Image:- The main image on Q is a posed image of the band Take That

bundling on top of each other- The main image on my magazine is a posed image of Lizzy playing

her guitar. I felt that this gave a more musical feel to the magazine.

Price:- The price for my magazine is £1.50- The price for Kerrang! is £2.20- The price for NME is £2.30- The price for Q is £3.99- The price for my magazine is lower than the price for other music

magazines. This is because it is aimed at my target audience (15-21) who don’t have a lot of spare money because they are students.

Challenges:- My magazine challenges the regular music magazine because

NME and Kerrang! mainly focus on Indie and Rock in their magazines but I have decided to focus on Pop and R’n’B because I did a questionnaire for my target audience and found these were the favourite music genres.

- Also I found that not many other magazines focused on Pop so I thought that my magazine would stand out from others.

- My main image on the front cover is with a musical instrument. Having looked at other magazines, their main images are with the artist posing in front of the camera but I wanted to show that my magazine had a musical feel to it.
