Gospel Acclamation

Nicene Creed I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made; For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, (all bow) and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Preparation of the Gifts: We Have Been Told

Refrain Page 4

Shout to the Lord, all the earth, let us sing power and majesty, praise to the King; mountains bow down and the seas will roar at the sound of your name. I sing for joy at the work of your hands; forever I’ll love you, forever I’ll stand. Nothing compares to the promise I have in you.

Darlene Zschech, Arr. By Brian Fife; Text and music © 1993, Darlene Zschech/Hillsong Pub. (admin, by Integrity’s Hosanna! Music/ASCAP

Setting 2 (9:00 am Mass): Jubilate Servite Translation: Raise a song of gladness, peoples of the earth, Christ has come, bringing peace, joy to ev’ry heart. Alleluia, alleluia, joy to ev’ry heart!

Sending Forth: Lift High the Cross

Communion: Bread of Life from Heaven

With this Bread

1. To offer assistance when others are blind to the need, to give loving care to each other is planting God’s seed. Walking the promise and falling on mercy, believing we’ll walk with you. 2. Washing the wounds of division, we seek to ease pain. Sharing the burden of others, like God’s gentle rain. Befriending the one who is lonely and lost, believing we’ll walk with you. 3. We hold the key to our future as we share our souls, Nurturing love in a time when compassion unfolds. Dancing in joy, sharing in wonder the prayer that we sing to you.

Song of Praise: Setting 1: Shout to the Lord Verse: My Jesus, my Savior, Lord, there is none like you; all of my days I want to praise the wonders of your mighty love. My comfort, my shelter, tower of refuge and strength, let ev’ry breath, all that I am, never cease to worship you.

LITURGIA DE LA PALABRA Salmo Responsorial

(Estribillo)

MARY VII The Feast of Christ the King is one of my favorites of the liturgical year. It is held at the end of the Church’s calendar, late in November, the month in which we traditionally remember the Last Things —Death, Judgement, Hell and Heaven. This feast celebrates the majesty of Christ and points us towards considerations of our own eternal destiny.

It’s a daunting business, contemplating eternity. Though it lies over faith’s horizon, and though its Light shines through and across the very fabric of the cosmos, eternity is not easily conceptualized. It has been argued by theologians that rather than thinking of eternity as “time lasting forever” we should think of it as beyond time altogether. Beyond space, too. The saints whose feast starts the month of November, and with whom Jesus is delighted to share his rule (Wisdom 3:8; Rev. 20:4-6) are bound by neither time nor space, and so may be available to many people at once. So too, with the angels.

It is, of course, the same with the Blessed Mother. Catholic mystics have told us that the Blessed Mother prays for every person on earth, by name, every single day. The concept of a “day,” of course m the “land beyond time” (Heaven) is one that we can have long conversations about, but the point is that all of heaven is fighting for us, pulling for us and praying for us, before the loving king whose eternal glory we celebrate today.

In our time, the King has made known his desire that a great devotion be established to the Immaculate Heart of his Mother, the Queen of Heav-en and Earth. The reason for this devotion is the salvation of souls, again, one of our premiere considerations during the month of November. We will return to the establishment of devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary next Sunday. IHM Pray for us, Fr. Jim

MARIA VII

ALL SAINTS AND ANGELS CARNIVAL—THANK YOU!! The Third Annual All Saints and Angels Carnival this year was a huge success! The attendance (not including volunteers) numbered over 400. Children and adults alike had a wonderful time. A large group of volunteers helped to set-up, run and clean-up after the event. The carnival has grown in the past few years and is fast becoming known as a 'safe', non-scary and spiritual event for families to celebrate our faith as Catholics. The evening also included a little parade of 'Saints and Angels" into the Church where children are reminded of the origins of the even-ing and then receive a blessing. The chair-people would like to extend a thank you to the many ministries from IHM who donated various amounts of money to help fund this free parish event. We are also grateful for those parishioners who purchased one of our famous Root Beer Floats during the summer months to help raise money for this event. Truly by all joining together, we have created an event for entire families to celebrate their faith and yes, even evangelize and welcome those who may not be weekly church attendees. Because planning begins in the spring for this event, we encourage all to become part of this fun and faith-filled event! Please call Jill Wright at 420-6865 or Julie Figueroa at 513-8155 if you are interested. We would be happy to add you to our list of volunteers for next year. We are certain that all volunteers will receive heavenly rewards - and of course a free hot dog! All Saints and Angels - pray for us!
