    andpatented.ThewhitearrowsshowthepaththatsomeofyourliquidwilltakewhenitgoesthroughtheTB-magpump.Theideatokeepinmindatalltimesisthathighpressure(coloredred)willalwaysfindlowpressure(coloredyellow).Agoodexampleisaballoonthatyoublowupandletgoof.Theaircomesoutbecausepressureinsidetheballoonishigherthanout-side.Thetopleftpictureshowsthatthesuctionside(leftside)ofthepumphasthelowestpressure(coloredyellow).Thedischargewillhavethehigh-estpressure(coloredred).Whenthearrowsarefollowed,thepathtraveledis:liquidentersthesuctionofthepumpandthecenteroftheimpeller.The

    impellerthencentrifugallycreatespressurewiththeliquid(redcoloredarea).Asthepumphousingisfilledwiththepressurizedliquid,someoftheliquidwillgoaroundtothebacksideoftheimpellerandpassthruthebackclearanceringset(pictureupperrightside).Thisareaisfixedandcreatesaconstant,restrictingpressuredrop(redcolorchangingtogreencolor).Fromhere,theliquidwillpassovertheimpeller(themagnetassembly)andgoaroundtotheimpellerbackend(balancingpressure).Atthispoint,itwilltravelthroughthecenteroftheimpeller(greenareaagain)andfindthesuction(thelowpressurearea).Why?Highpressurewillalwaysgotolowpressure(justliketheballoon)!

    Lookingatthepicturelocatedjustabove,wefindthatawayto

    thrustbalancetheimpelleristosimplycombinethesuctionpressureandthepressureonthefrontoftheimpellertogoagainstthepressure(andthrust)fromthebackoftheimpeller(thegreenarea).Iftheimpellermovesforwardduetothrust(picturelowerleftcorner)anopeningcon-trolledbytheimpellerbecomeslargerandallowsmoreliquidtoleavethegreenarea,directlyloweringthethrustandpressure.Iftoomuchthrustorpressureislost,theimpellerwillmovebackward,closingtheopening(picturelowerrightcorner)causingthepressureorthrustinthegreenarea

    todirectlyincreaseagainstthesuctionandfrontimpellerpressures.
