Family and Friends

A limb has fallen from the family tree.

I keep hearing a voice that says,

“Grieve not for me.”

My mind is at ease. My soul is at rest;

For I know was truly blessed.

Remember the good life I lived while I was strong.

Don’t mourn too much as I grew tired

of life’s frustrations

And needed rest.

Hold a hand, say a prayer,

Close your eyes, and see me there.

Although you may feel a little torn,

Don’t lose the love I gave you, but feed it with care.

Grow it with devotion and spread it everywhere.

Don’t fret because my leaving came in such a way.

Please know that I’ll always be in your heart

Until we have another meeting

in God’s eternal day.

We, the family of Rosie L. Mackey, would like to thank you for

your loving acts of kindness during this time. We would

especially like to thank the staff at Palmetto Health Richland,

South Carolina Oncology Associates, Agape Church,

and Advanced Disposal.

"So you have pain now; but I will see you again, and your hearts will

rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you." John 16:22

Rosie L. Mackey was born May 1, 1964 in Salisbury, North Carolina to

the late Fred Jones and Betty Clinding. She entered into eternal rest on

September 11, 2017 at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital

Rosie attended public schools in Salisbury, North Carolina and the

public schools of Columbia, South Carolina in Richland School District

Two. She later attended Rutledge College and Midlands Technical

College, where she earned a medical certificate and later her

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

Rosie faithfully attended Agape Church, until her health declined. Rosie

enjoyed her job at Advance Disposal as a driver. Rosie loved her family

and made all her friends feel like family. She had a loving heart and

would do whatever she could for anybody. She was the glue that held

her family together and will always be remembered for her love and

understanding.

Rosie is survived by her husband, Danny Mackey; one son, Antonio

(Sierrea) Brown of Columbia, South Carolina; five brothers: Manuel

Chunn, James (Betty) Chunn of Salisbury, North Carolina, Ronald

(Cathey) Chunn, Willie (Rosalind) Chunn, and Marvin Clinding of Rock

Hill, South Carolina; and three sisters: Phyllis Brown and Annette

Clinding both of South Carolina, and Sylvia Worth of Salisbury, North

Carolina. She is also survived by two godchildren, Courtland Shell and

Cyniah Curience and a host of nieces and nephews, whom she loved

dearly.

When tomorrow starts without me

and I'm not here to see…

If the sun should rise and find your

eyes filled with tears for me,

I wish so much you wouldn't cry

the way you did today...

While thinking of the many things

we didn't get to say.

I know how much you love me,

as much as I love you...

And each time you think of me,

I know you'll miss me, too.

But when tomorrow starts without me,

please try to understand...

That Jesus came and called my name

and took me by the hand,

And said my place was ready

in heaven far above...

And that I'd have to leave behind

all those I dearly love.

So when tomorrow starts without me,

don't think we're far apart...

For every time you think of me,

I'm right here in your heart.
