Starts at Boone’s Lick & Main, ends 200 blk of South Main - Berthold Square Cheer as all the Santas, Characters, & Carolers
come together. During the parade’s grand finale watch as each of the Santas, carrying the flag of their native land, herald the arrival of Santa & Mrs. Claus and their horse-drawn carriage. At the end, stay for the program
where the characters will display their hidden talents in a competition.

Where Christmas Past Comes to Life” A Special Documentary Presentation
Discover the behind-the-scenes story of a tradition 40 years in the making. To celebrate Christmas Traditions’ four
decades on Main Street, the Saint Charles Media Department will present a special documentary that combines the use of photographs, archival footage, and interviews to chart the history and evolution of one of the largest Christmas
festivals in the country. Join us for the screening of the documentary on Thursday, November 20th at 6pm at the Foundry Art Centre. Admission is Free.
Copies of the documentary will be available to purchase during festival hours at the Festival Information Booth.

40 Years of Christmas Traditions The Great Ornament Hunt
Main Street & Frontier Park
To commemorate the 40th year of Christmas Traditions, the Legends of
Christmas have added their own special decorations to the street—in the form of giant ornaments! Keep a sharp
eye out, they have been hidden all throughout the historic district. See if
you can spot all 40 of them!
Meet the Reindeer Flight Instructor and her Live Reindeer Pals
December 13, 14, 20, & 21 * 3-5pm North Main Colonnade
You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen—now get the chance to meet some of their antlered brethren up
close. The Reindeer Flight Instructor has brought some of her special friends direct from the North Pole as a special
surprise for visitors. Join her as she tells funny stories about her reindeer pals & take photos with these beautiful animals.
Yuletide Dinner with the Legends of Christmas
December 4, 11 & 18 * 7pm Old Stone Chapel—1106 S. Main
No one celebrates the holidays better than our Legends of Christmas. This year they are gathering to throw one of the most festive Yuletide extravaganzas ever. The evening will include a buffet-style meal,
music, interactive activities, and hilarious one-on-one interaction with various zany festival personalities.

Saint Nicholas Day Celebration December 6 * 3pm * Berthold Square
(Corner of First Capitol Drive & Main St.) Meet & Greet Saint Nick himself. He will share his story, as
well as, insights about the history and customs of Saint Nicholas Day. Children of all ages are then encouraged to join Saint
Nicholas in the festival’s first ever Saint Nicholas Day Children’s Parade. The procession will travel the short distance from
Berthold Square to the North Main Colonnade, where you are invited to participate in a custom… with a twist.
Saint Nicholas has established a reputation of leaving gold coins in the shoes that others leave out for him. In honor of this tradition, the festi-val is looking to give back this holiday season by hosting a shoe drive, where we invite you to bring along new/gently used shoes to donate.
Santa Lucia Day Celebration December 13 at 6pm North Main Colonnade
Join us as we observe the centuries-old Scandinavian celebration of “St. Lucy’s Day”.
The highlight will be a special evening children’s parade lead by the Saint of Light
herself. Children of all ages are encouraged to follow the procession to Berthold Square where
there will be story-telling by Santa Lucia.

CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS EVENTS NOT TO MISS
At Saint Charles Christmas Traditions, you have the
opportunity to interact with some of the famous figures in holiday history, literature, & folklore. From the majestic
pageantry of our Santas from around the world, to the
mischievous antics of Jack Frost — all the characters
look forward to meeting you! Each one is eager to share
their stories with you in the form of a trading card
featuring their image and a small bit of
Christmas history. Collecting these special cards is a cherished tradition — see how many you
can collect while you are in Saint Charles. Enjoy the sounds of the season as Saint Charles’ official
Victorian carolers, the Cobblestone Wassailiers, serenade you with the familiar
melodies of your favorite traditional Christmas carols. And for a different type of musical treat, be sure to look for the Sleigh Bell Singers—a quartet that specializes in the
popular holiday standards of the 1940s & 1950s.
