DFO’S CEO
DFO’s CEO Meimei Ding graduated with a Master’s degree from Central St. Martins College in London. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from University of Pennsylvania, one of America’s Ivy League institutions. Fluent in English and Chinese Mandarin, Meimei spent 6 years working in Shanghai and Beijing as a leading Brand Strategist.Her list of clients include Levi’s, Christian Dior, Georg Jensen, MTV, among others. With an understanding of the Chinese market and culture, Meimei envisions DFO to be a professional platform for brands and buyers based on: Market statistics, sales analytics, and quality services. From her time at DFO, Meimei has built a wealth of networks in Europe including trade organizations, governmental institutions, and industry press.Meimei is frequently invited to travel and speak on subjects relating to fashion and the Chinese market. Meimei spends her time between Europe and Shanghai. She has been interviewed by Business of Fashion, Jing Daily, WeAr, and Drapers for her work.

Hosted by Shanghai Municipal Government, Shanghai Fashion Week showcases top design talents from around the world within the frames of a special cultural and business event. This April, its joint spaces from catwalk to shows spanned over 25,000 sqm, where over 1,000 brands showcased their latest designs. The success was hailed by Business of Fashion as “Shanghai’s Bid to Conquer Asian Fashion” (Apri 25, 2017). For AW17, DFO organised the 7th edition of largest private showroom event in China, a brand new concept trade space called DADASHOW, and collaborated with WHITE Milano in a heavyweight industry marketing event.

With great support by Bailian Group Fashion Centre, and close proximity to LABELHOOD, one of Shanghai Fashion Week’s key events, Sihang Warehouse is by the Suzhou River bank in downtown Shanghai. The top 2 floors, with roof-top terrace overlooking Shanghai skyline and Suzhou River, was dedicated to DFO. A contemporary warehouse in the heart of the city, which is part of a very important cultural heritage site, Sihang Warehouse is Shanghai’s most famous historic building from the Second Sino-Japanese War (1937-1945). Recently refurbished, it welcomes artists, designers, and media and reconnects the site with Shanghai’s booming urban life.

As the largest designer showroom in China with more than 1,000 brands and 1,000 retailers on our database, we would like to invest our know-how and market resources into DADASHOW - A tradeshow space celebrating innovation, creativity, design and commerce. With DADASHOW, it is our aim to nurture an exuberant and sustainable playground for emerging designers that wish to explore the market without the heavy demands of our distribution showroom model.The mission of DADASHOW is to provide emerging brands with an incubator environment where they can experience the market on a platform pillared by DFO’s industry knowledge. WHITE is the main tradeshow for women’s collections and the leader for international brands scouting. With its four yearly editions during the Milanese woman and man fashion week, it represents the launching pad for the success of brands and companies, as well as a reference point for most of the key multibrand and department stores in the world. Visited each season by over 21,000 visitors from the most prestigious retailers worldwide, WHITE is a coveted platform for niche brands.
For STYLE ROUTES TO SHANGHAI, which included a group model presentation, party, and industry forum organised by DFO on April 7 and 8 for WHITE Milano, the program aimed at creating a “Fashion Meets Commerce” impact that communicated the core values of WHITE to China’s fashion industry.
With attendance exceeding 400% beyond expectations, the PR and media strategy as well as the quality of the events was hailed as an industry success.
