Help Me Understand What's Compassion? What's empathy? Empathy in my experience, asking for nothing back in return, giving them a piece of your heart, and is showing love and kindness toward others. I'm blessed to distribute compassion to those who might not receive it otherwise, and to work with their families and customers everyday, or frequently. I recently had the opportunity to visit with a customer who had been in Boca Raton, Florida who was recuperating from a broken hip. I went to visit her to check to see how she was feeling, and I likewise wanted to ensure that she knew that I was thinking of her. as soon as I walked in the space, her eyes lit up and she said, "What are you doing here?" I responded. We talked for over one hour about her thoughts on her treatment, the food of the facility, and her plans for once she returned home. As I was leaving, she gave me a huge hug and said, "I 'm so glad you came to see me!" It made me feel really good that I possibly could reveal her love and kindness. Stopping by to see was such a small action from me, but it made a big impact along with her. We believe that empathy makes all the difference. You will find lots of methods to show compassion and they may be as easy as calling to check on someone who we know is ill, or by visiting with him or her if they're in the hospital. Showing compassion can be as simple as taking time to really listen to others. We get so caught up in trying to "fix" everything, when often times, people simply want someone to listen to them, know that they are heard, and that their feelings are validated. I encourage everyone to be the definition of empathy also to demonstrate love and kindness toward everyone you meet. Preferred Care Franchises
