Bio

Harish Gowrisunkur, MSc. FCCA

Harish is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and holds a MSc. Business Systems (City University, London). He also did a management series in Finance and Business Administration at the University of California Berkeley, USA.

He has a rich professional career in areas of finance and IT. Harish is the owner of GAAP Solutions, a public accounting and consulting practice.

Harish also sits on the Board of a few private companies in Mauritius where he contributes in areas of finance and IT.

Prior to opening his firm, Harish has held senior management positions in leading corporate organisations namely Manager-Finance at La Prudence Mauricienne (Mauritius Union Group), Senior Consultant at De Chazal Du Mee consulting, Accountant at Silver Levene (UK) and has been exposed in financial services, insurance, IT and public sectors. His international experience has led him to USA, UK, Kenya, South Africa, Madagascar and Botswana.

2012 – Current Managing Partner GAAP Solutions A licensed accounting and consulting practice that provides value-added services in areas of

Accountancy, Taxation and Payroll services. In addition the firm offers Oracle Financials implementation, release 12 for AP, AR, GL, CM and FA.

2008-2011Manager – Finance and Accounting, La Prudence (Mauritius Union Group) Managed the accounting department at a leading insurance company in Mauritius. Prepared

reports to the Board of Directors and the regulatory authority (FSC). In addition prepared reinsurance accounts, managed staff, debtors collection and participated actively during the merger of the company with the Mauritius Union Assurance.

2005-2007 Finance and Administrative Manager, AFRINICIn charge of the finance and accounting function at the Internet Registry for Africa. Managed staff, debtors monitoring and participated at Board Meetings.

2003-2005 Senior Consultant, De Chazal Du Mee ConsultingLead for the implementation of Oracle Financial (release 11i) at organisations in Mauritius, Madagascar and Kenya.
